Chapter 65: Obtaining the Three Mysterious Transformations of Heavenly Flame

Chapter 65: Obtaining the Three Mysterious Transformations of Heavenly Flame

On the outskirts of the imperial capital, at the Mitel family's private station, a relatively luxurious train slowly came to a stop. The imperial capital was the core of the entire Jia Ma Empire. Apart from the royal family, everyone, including the major clans like the Mitel family, could only enter through the eastern, western, southern, or northern gates. No exceptions were made.

The current Jia Ma royal family originated from a large clan within the ancient Jia Ma Holy City. After seizing power, they established themselves as the ruling family and crowned themselves royalty.

Because of this, the royal family remained highly vigilant against the other prominent clans. After all, if they had replaced others to claim power, what was stopping someone else from doing the same to them?

"So, Jia Ma Holy City… I'm back," Lu Bu murmured with a trace of nostalgia. He had left this place years ago, and now, after two or three years, he was returning. Come to think of it, he hadn't even had the chance to explore the city properly during his last visit.

"Let's go. We'll head into the city first," Ya Fei said with a smile. "Hai Lao, I've already arranged accommodations for you all. As for your arrival, I'll personally report it to Grand Elder Tengshan."

"Mm, you handle it," Hai Bodong responded with a nod. Although he was technically the Mitel family's patriarch, he had little interest in managing these affairs. Tengshan had done an excellent job developing the family, so Hai Bodong was happy to let him continue.

Qing Lin glanced at Lu Bu. Her young master was now wearing an Ice Silkworm Mask, making his face look different from before. It gave him a slightly peculiar appearance.

Two carriages soon arrived. Under Ya Fei's efficient direction, everything was quickly prepared.

"She's a capable woman, that's for sure…" Lu Bu observed Ya Fei's confident demeanor. Clad in a crimson, form fitting robe that accentuated her curves, her exquisite face remained calm and composed as she efficiently organized everything.

Unfortunately, her captivating peach blossom eyes, which seemed to ensnare the hearts of onlookers, also made it difficult for others to focus.

While she was undoubtedly competent, Lu Bu saw her as nothing more than that. His ambitions meant that any woman by his side couldn't simply be a pretty vase.

"Hai Lao, you go ahead and prepare the necessary materials. Qing Lin and I will take a stroll around the city and join you later," Lu Bu said.

Ya Fei raised an eyebrow at his statement but quickly instructed the coachman to cooperate fully. The coachman was told to follow Lu Bu's instructions without question.

Hai Bodong hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Alright… but don't cause trouble."

"Relax…" Lu Bu smiled, about to respond further when a burst of laughter interrupted him.

"Hahaha! Ya Fei, you've finally returned."

A young man dressed in luxurious robes approached with a group of followers. His eyes carried a hint of greed as he openly ogled Ya Fei's figure, his murky gaze brimming with desire.

"I've been waiting for you for so long… hahaha," he said.

This young man, about the same age as Ya Fei, was a Dou Zhe. His talent was considered decent within the Mitel family. However, his pale complexion betrayed his excessive indulgence in carnal pleasures, which had drained him of vitality and significantly hindered his cultivation potential.

Noticing the man's gaze, Ya Fei's face immediately turned cold with disgust, her feelings of revulsion written all over her face.

"Hai Lao, Mr. Lu, please board the carriage," Ya Fei said, ignoring the man entirely as she prepared to head back into the city.

Being ignored in front of his subordinates made the young man's face darken with anger. Already prone to irritation due to his health issues, his temper flared.

"Pardon me, Ya Fei, but I need these two carriages for my own use. You'll have to find another way," he declared with a sneer, waving his hand for his followers to seize the carriages prepared for Lu Bu and Hai Bodong.

"Hai Lao, your family members seem to have a rather narrow mindset," Lu Bu said with a smirk, clearly enjoying the spectacle.

Hai Bodong's face darkened. He hadn't even officially returned, and yet he was already dealing with such petty nonsense.

"Leo, stand down!" Ya Fei snapped, her voice icy with anger. "What do you think you're doing?"

"Nothing much. My grandfather requires these carriages," Leo said with a shrug, using his grandfather's name as a shield.

Ya Fei outranked him in the family hierarchy, and her personal guards were stronger than his. If things escalated, he would be at a disadvantage. By invoking his grandfather's authority, he believed he could force Ya Fei to back down.

"Stop talking nonsense," Ya Fei retorted, her face red with fury. "These carriages weren't reserved. Get lost and stop blocking the way!"

"I wouldn't know about that. I'm just following orders," Leo replied smugly, convinced he had her cornered.

"Annoying," Lu Bu muttered, rubbing his ears with feigned irritation.

"And who are you?" Leo sneered, his gaze shifting to Lu Bu. "Showing up uninvited on Mitel family territory. Are you a spy?"

"Leo, you " Ya Fei's frustration boiled over as she prepared to retort.

"Hai Lao, Qing Lin and I will head into the city first. Don't let anyone disturb us," Lu Bu said calmly, taking Qing Lin's hand as he walked toward the carriage.

"Stop them!" Leo bellowed, enraged. Being ignored by Ya Fei was one thing, but this random pretty boy dared to look down on him?

Slap!

Lu Bu turned abruptly and backhanded Leo across the face. The force of the blow sent the young man flying through the air, teeth and blood scattering everywhere before he landed in a nearby bush, barely conscious.

"Let's go. Take us to the Alchemist Guild," Lu Bu instructed the coachman. The man hesitated briefly, then nodded and snapped the reins, driving the carriage toward the city gates.

"Bring him with us to see Tengshan," Hai Bodong said to Ya Fei, gesturing toward the semi conscious Leo.

"Understood, Hai Lao." Ya Fei had her people drag the disheveled Leo out of the bushes and throw him onto another carriage. Offending the patriarch would spell disaster for both Leo and his grandfather.

The Alchemist Guild was a sprawling complex bustling with activity. Alchemists, merchants, imperial officials, and members of noble families filled the area, creating a lively atmosphere.

By this time, Lu Bu had donned the distinctive robe of a Tier 1 alchemist. Holding Qing Lin's hand, he walked confidently into the guild.

The guards glanced at him briefly before dismissing him as unremarkable. However, the sight of someone so young wearing an alchemist's robe did catch their attention.

"Young master, why are we here?" Qing Lin asked, looking around with curiosity.

The guild was divided into three main areas. To the south, novice alchemists practiced under the guidance of more experienced mentors. To the west were guarded rooms that likely required special permission to access. The eastern section was the trading zone, and that was where Lu Bu was headed.

"To find a treasure," Lu Bu said with a smile as he extended his soul perception. It didn't take long for him to lock onto a target.

At the edge of the trading area, a hunchbacked middle aged alchemy apprentice sat behind a stone platform. Among the various items displayed, a black, fragmented jade piece caught Lu Bu's eye.

"Perfect." Lu Bu's eyes lit up as he led Qing Lin toward the stall.
