Nami's Plea

[T/N: Hey everyone! 👋 Boundless_Beacon here, popping in for a quick update! ❤️ (All good news - just wanted to share some thoughts!)

First off, a HUGE thank you to everyone reading One Piece: I'm Destined to Be the Son-in-Law King! 🙏 Your support truly means the world to me! 😄

The Practical Side (and How You Can Help!) 💰

Here's the reality: I'd love to keep releasing chapters, but there are costs associated with every chapter. 😔 I understand that not everyone can contribute financially, and that's perfectly okay! 🙏 But if you are able to help in other ways, it would be immensely appreciated!

Power Stones, reviews… they boost the novel's visibility, potentially attracting more readers and maybe even some wonderful Patreons! That would help cover my expenses and, who knows, perhaps even allow me to translate full-time! (Imagine the extra content! 🤩)

A Simple Request (with a Bonus!) 🙏

So, here's my sincere request (puppy-dog eyes engaged! 🥺):

- Power Stones: If you can, please send Power Stones whenever possible! Every single one helps! The more Power Stones a novel receives, the higher it ranks on the platform, making it more visible to other readers. It's a fantastic way to help grow the community around the story!

- Reviews: Please, please , please leave an honest review! 🙏 It's the absolute best way to help new readers discover the story!

- Patreon: If you're able to offer financial support, becoming a Patreon would be amazing! Patreons get exclusive early access to advance chapters, and your contributions directly support the continuation of this project. To be upfront, this translation is currently running at a loss, so every bit of support makes a significant difference.

Bonus Power Stone Incentive! 🎉

As extra motivation (and a huge thank you!), here's the deal: For every 50 Power Stones the novel receives every week, I'll release +2 bonus chapter(s)! More Power Stones = More content for everyone! 😄

Happy Reading, everyone! And thank you, from the bottom of my heart, for your amazing support! ❤️

Now for Today's Chapter Release: Three new chapters for One Piece: I'm Destined to Be the Son-in-Law King!]

*

Roya's grip tightened on his Wolf Fang Club. His eyes blazed with a savage, red light. The muscles in his arms bulged, and thick, ugly blue veins pulsed beneath his skin.

He looked like a monster from a nightmare!

"Stop it!!!" Buggy shrieked, his voice filled with sheer terror.

Roya roared and swung the spiked club with every ounce of his strength at Buggy's lower body, which was scurrying along the ground like a frightened rat!

"Martial Art * Homerun!" Roya bellowed.

"Chop Chop * Emergency Escape!" Buggy screamed back.

In this desperate situation, Buggy's rapidly spinning lower half burst into pieces, each fragment trying to escape the club's deadly path. But the force of the spin sent the separated parts flying towards Roya anyway.

But Roya had already chosen his target!

The Wolf Fang Club's heavy, spiked head, carrying a terrifying and unstoppable force, slammed squarely between Buggy's legs!

"Thwack!!!"

A direct hit!

"Eeeeek!!!"

Buggy, floating helplessly in mid-air, contorted his face into a grotesque mask of pain. His scream was high-pitched and thin, like the cry of a wounded bird.

His hands, which had been waiting for a chance to strike at Roya, lost their strength and dropped to the ground, twitching wildly along with Buggy's upper body.

Then, with a whoosh , his lower body turned into a blur of light and smashed into the cliff wall behind him, sending up a cloud of dust and debris. It must have been incredibly painful, but it was nothing compared to the agonizing blow he had just received.

"Drip… drip…"

Fresh blood oozed from the Wolf Fang Club's spikes, splattering on the ground in gruesome droplets.

The Marines behind Roya, witnessing the scene, instinctively squeezed their legs together, drawing in sharp, involuntary breaths.

Was it … crushed? one of them wondered, his face paling.

"Haa…"

Roya casually hoisted the Wolf Fang Club over his shoulder, letting out a satisfied sigh.

The first use of an attack, whether a Devil Fruit power or a special technique, was often the most effective.

Catch the enemy by surprise and defeat them with a single, decisive blow.

Pelvis shattered! Roya thought with grim satisfaction.

Once the enemy was prepared, it would be nearly impossible to repeat the attack. But judging from Buggy's writhing, his face contorted in agony, a second strike seemed unnecessary.

"Eh?!"

"You despicable Marines, huff… haa… don't think you can defeat me so easily!"

To Roya's surprise, Buggy, panting heavily, actually managed to stand up. His dismembered body parts flew back to him, reassembling themselves with a sickening click.

But his trembling body and the blood staining his lower half betrayed his brave facade.

Such serious injuries couldn't possibly leave his fighting ability unaffected.

Buggy was drenched in cold sweat. With a supreme effort, he raised his right arm, supporting his shoulder with his left hand. He aimed his right fist, four sharp Flying Knives jammed between his fingers, at Roya.

This was his last desperate attack!

"Chop Chop * Cannon!" he screamed, his voice cracking.

His right forearm shot forward, moving with the force and speed of a cannonball.

"A futile effort."

Roya shook his head, unimpressed. He spun the Wolf Fang Club in his hand, gripped it tightly, and swung it forward with lightning speed, instantly shattering the four Flying Knives. The club's momentum carried through, slamming into Buggy's fist!

"Crack!"

Bones splintered and broke.

"Aaaaaah!!!"

Buggy screamed, collapsing to the ground, his fingers twisted and deformed. His right arm, its bones crushed beyond repair, lay uselessly beside him.

"Thump!"

The Wolf Fang Club was planted in the ground next to his head, silencing Buggy's screams with its silent threat.

"Captain Buggy!"

Seeing their captain defeated and humiliated, Cabaji and Mohji's minds descended into chaos. They lost all the composure they had shown earlier in the battle.

Their defenses crumbled!

Pirates without their captain were nothing.

"Iron Fist Gauntlet!" Fullbody roared.

"Sleep!" Jango added.

Fullbody and Jango saw their chance and seized it, attacking with renewed ferocity.

Mohji was punched in the head, cracks spider-webbing across his skull.

Richie the lion was hypnotized by Jango, instantly falling into a deep slumber.

Isca's sword rained down on Cabaji, each blow precise and deadly.

They had won.

"Tie them up!" Roya commanded.

"Yes, sir!" the Marines replied.

Unlike the small-time pirate crews with bounties of less than ten million, the Buggy Pirates were one of the true powers in the East Blue.

Capturing them and bringing them back would be far more valuable than simply killing them, especially for Roya's reputation within the Marines.

Achievements needed to be seen to be remembered.

Besides, Roya wanted to get some information from Buggy.

"Clean up the battlefield, let's move out!"

"Yes, sir!"

The main target had been captured; there was no need to linger. This mission had been a complete success.

Soon, Fullbody and Jango brought a young girl before Roya.

"Ensign Roya, we caught a thief!" Fullbody announced proudly.

"A thief?"

Roya was puzzled.

Fullbody explained, "We found her next to the treasure chest while we were cleaning up. She had already opened it."

"I see."

She came to steal treasure? Roya thought, his eyes narrowing.

Unfortunately for her, aside from the few genuine treasures in the smaller chests, the large chest was filled only with worthless rocks.

Roya studied the girl. She looked strangely familiar.

"What's your name?" he asked, his voice calm.

"Nami," she mumbled, her eyes downcast.

Nami was stunned and disappointed.

She had taken a huge risk, carefully sneaking onto the battlefield and opening the large treasure chest, only to find useless rocks.

Her hopes were completely shattered.

Utterly defeated, she had even forgotten to run.

"Nami…"

Roya stared at the girl, focusing on her distinctive orange-red hair.

"Are you from Cocoyasi Village?"

"How do you know?"

Nami's head snapped up, her eyes wide with surprise. She was just a small-time thief, only stealing from pirates. The Marines shouldn't know her, let alone her hometown.

"It's nothing."

Roya shook his head, dismissing her question.

It really is Nami, he thought, a hint of surprise in his voice.

He wondered if it was just luck. First Zoro, then Nami, and, of course, Usopp from Syrup Village.

Come to think of it, Zoro and the others were operating near the 153rd Branch. They weren't exactly hiding, so it was only a matter of time before their paths crossed.

Roya waved his hand dismissively.

"Let her go," he said.

Petty theft was not a serious crime. Even if they arrested her, she wouldn't be locked up for more than a few days. Besides, Nami was trying to steal the "treasure" that Buggy had found, so, technically, it wasn't even a crime.

As for recruiting her…

Roya glanced back at Nami.

The girl was only thirteen or fourteen, far too young. He wasn't sure if she could endure the rigors of Marine training.

And there was Arlong's influence…

Nami watched Roya turn to leave, remembering how easily he had defeated Buggy. A spark of hope suddenly ignited within her heart.

If it's him! she thought desperately.

"Please wait, Marine!"

Nami dashed in front of Roya, spreading her arms to block his path.

"There's a group of powerful and evil pirates occupying my hometown, Cocoyasi Village. They rule over the surrounding twenty villages with violence. Anyone who dares to resist them will be killed…"

With tears streaming down her face, Nami recounted the countless crimes of the Arlong Pirates, the deaths of her adoptive mother and the villagers.

The Marines had sent warships before, but they were no match for the Arlong Pirates. After that, the 16th Branch near Cocoyasi Village never tried to subdue the Arlong Pirates again.

She could only hope to gather 100 million Berries and buy her village's freedom.

And now, maybe this Marine could destroy the Arlong Pirates.

"You're strong, right?" Nami pleaded hopefully. "Please… could you get rid of the Arlong Pirates and save my hometown?"

"…"

Roya was silent for a long time before slowly shaking his head.

He couldn't do it, not yet. He couldn't risk the lives of his subordinates just to take down the Arlong Pirates.

He had the confidence to face enemies like Kuro or Buggy. They both had obvious weaknesses and weren't invincible.

But Arlong was different.

He was truly powerful.

Fish-men possessed ten times the strength of humans, and Arlong was one of the best among them. He had been the third-in-command of the Sun Pirates, second only to Fisher Tiger and Jinbe.

His bounty was only 20 million, but that was the upper limit for the East Blue. If Arlong had gone to the Grand Line, his bounty could easily have doubled.

"I'm sorry. I can't do it right now."

Roya sighed and walked past the stunned Nami. But he didn't get far before stopping.

He was unwilling!

Not because he cared about helping Nami. Their relationship wasn't that deep. He was unwilling because of his own weakness.

Including the three months he spent working at the tavern, he had been in this world for almost a year, and he was just a slightly famous country Marine.

The goal of becoming a Marine Admiral was still far away, and he only had four years left.

Roya took a deep breath.

"Give me some time, little girl," he said, turning back to face her.

"One year, at most one year!"

"Within a year, I will go and destroy the Arlong Pirates!"
