Brie's POV
When Lynx asked me to come over and hang out, this was not what I had in mind, and I was sure that it wasn’t what he had in mind either. His mother, father, brother, me, and to all of our shock, Vic sat on the overly pristine couch staring at one another. The silence in the room spoke volumes.
I could’ve sworn he told me that his dad wouldn’t be here. That he was never usually here. Why was he here now? His green eyes, soulless and dull, poisoned the room.
“I hadn’t realized you ended things with that Peterman girl,” Mrs. Peak said, breaking the ice.
I guess she couldn’t stand the awkward silence any more than the rest of us could.
