That was the first thing Felix thought when he turned 18 and sensed his mate bond.
How could Jared possibly be his mate?! The man who bullied him since they were kids, a complete player, and the pupil of Felix’s ‘beloved’ father?! Sure, he was powerful, handsome and leader of their pack - the best match out there, that any other Omega would die for…

Felix said, hugging a fox that made its home in his pantry…

And the fox snickered, burying its head in Felix’s neck.

How to make Kade leave Silverfall? The simplest, and probably the only, way was to find the mermaid, of course! While it didn't guarantee the Alpha would leave, at least not permanently, not when the fated bond between him and Felix remained… He couldn't possibly be so free as to just hang around endlessly, right? Even as an heir, there must have been a limit to how much time he could spend away from the pack without a proper justification.

And his mission with the mermaid was likely his current justification.

Of course, even knowing that, it didn't make things easier for Felix. He didn't know Silverfall or the folks living here well. The witch wouldn't show up to meet him, and Remi acted as if it couldn't understand. And Felix couldn't try to ask around like Kade. He was not a rich-looking Alpha whom people would take seriously, not to mention, he didn't want to attract any attention to himself!
