3rd Person pov (Past)
Nyara, her gaze fixed on Kail, inquired, "I think that went well, Kail, don't you think? We made an alliance with humans; no other gods or goddesses have done this before." A smile played on Kail's lips as he responded, "This was a smart idea, my love. We can learn from humans, and they can learn from us."
As they traversed the castle's grand hallways, Nyara veered towards their daughter's room. "Iyla, my baby, I'm back," she announced, peering through the doorway. "I wonder where my sweet Iyla is?" she teased, her eyes twinkling. Kail, a soft smile gracing his features, gestured towards the curtains, where small feet were visible.
"Hmm, I guess she's not here, honey; maybe we should just leave," Kail feigned, attempting to suppress his amusement as the curtains rustled. Just as they turned to depart, Iyla burst forth, her tiny arms wrapping around Nyara's legs. "I'm right here, mommy!" she declared.
Nyara scooped her daughter into a warm embrace. Kail, adopting a mock-pouting expression, pleaded, "What about me, princess? You left me out!" Iyla, her eyes bright, glanced at her father and suggested, "Mommy, let's let daddy join the club." A shared smile illuminated their faces as they embraced in a family hug. Iyla then asked, her curiosity piqued, "What were the humans like?"
"So far, they look like some of the people in our kingdom, but they don't have blessing marks," Kail explained. Nyara added, her voice gentle, "So far, they seem very nice."
Her thoughts drifted to the upcoming meeting in the human world, prompting her to wonder what she should bring. Kail, noticing her contemplative expression, inquired, "What are you thinking about, love?" Nyara smiled, replying, "I was wondering what I should bring with me to the human world when we go visit?" Kail, a playful smirk forming on his lips, assured her, "Don't worry; I have a plan." Nyara, feigning exasperation, retorted, Nyara rolled her eyes playfully, setting Iyla "You know I hate it when you do that". "Mommy, daddy is making a weird face," Iyla giggled, pointing at Kail. Nyara playfully glared at Kail, then announced, "I am going to prepare for bed; don't stay up too late." She bestowed a kiss upon Kail and a gentle peck on Iyla's forehead before departing.
Nyara walked through the castle halls, her mind occupied with the impending visit to the human world. "I was wondering what I should bring with me to the human world when we go visit?" she mused, contemplating potential gifts and necessities.
Kail lifted Iyla and carried her to her bed. "Are you ready for bed, my little star?" he asked. Iyla nodded, requesting a story. Kail read to her until she drifted off to sleep. He quietly left the room and proceeded to his secret chamber. There, he summoned his trusted soldiers. "Please keep a close eye on my family when we visit the humans. I have a bad feeling about this trip," he instructed, his voice laced with concern. "Yes, my lord," the soldiers responded, departing.
Kail sat amidst ancient books and scrolls, seeking a way to solidify the alliance. "That's it, their technology! These humans have is amazing," he exclaimed. He decided to give them some of their old portal technology, without the magic needed to power it. He went to a map, planning where to place the portals, and wrote down instructions for his guards. He went to bed, hoping the alliance would bring good, not harm.
