Checking the time, I suddenly realized that in the past, Xavion always said he was busy, had many social obligations outside, and often didn't come home for days. But in reality, eighty percent of the time he was out, he was being lovey-dovey with Melody.
I didn't want to see the same old saccharine posts, and was about to close the app when a post from March 15th caught my eye.
That day was when Tommy was born. I had a C-section at the hospital and nearly bled to death - it was almost a double tragedy.
At the time, Xavion was in a meeting and not by my side. Thankfully, my son and I narrowly escaped death and survived.
Afterwards, Xavion rushed over in a panic, giving us the best recovery treatment. Back then, I thought he was so attentive and responsible that it moved me beyond words.
But looking at this photo now, there's Melody in a designer dress, accepting Xavion's proposal in a luxury hotel. The diamond on that ring is easily four times the size of my wedding ring.
So this is what he meant by "busy with work."
It turns out that even before our child was born, there was already no place for me in this family.
I don't know when the husband who used to be by my side day and night turned into such a two-faced scoundrel. If only I hadn't been so naive. I never once doubted him. Had I noticed the signs earlier, I could've taken my child and fled far away. We might've avoided ending up as prey in the tiger's mouth.
I didn't expose Xavion's lies because I knew it would be pointless to say anything to someone heartless enough to kill their own child.
The only thing left for me to do now was to escape this home that seemed cozy but had turned into a den of evil.
The day after I was discharged from the hospital, I put on my plainest sundress and struggled to visit Tommy's gravestone.
When Xavion heard about this, he sent the most expensive limousine to take me to the cemetery, but he was nowhere to be seen himself.
He said he'd come over once he finished arranging some circus business.
So because of his words, I, barely recovered from my illness, was left baking in the scorching sun of the vast cemetery for a whole hour.
After what seemed like forever, he finally showed up, hand in hand with Melody, who was decked out in designer clothes from head to toe.
"Vivienne, Melody said she wanted to come see our son too. She's allergic to UV rays, so it took her a while to get ready."Xavion spoke while carefully holding up the parasol he had prepared earlier, meticulously shielding Melody from the sun.
As I watched the two of them looking so sweet and cozy together, I suddenly felt incredibly bitter. How could I have missed such blatant favoritism?
Just then, Melody suddenly glanced at me, and in the next moment, as if declaring war, she spoke up: "Xavion, I feel awful. My chest feels so tight. Can we hurry up and finish so we can go back?" She furrowed her brow slightly, her entire being weakly leaning against Xavion's shoulder.
Hearing this, Xavion's face filled with terror, his whole demeanor becoming uncharacteristically anxious: "Where does it hurt? Let me help you back to the car to rest."
Melody rubbed her temples, nodding weakly.
