[Two months ago, before the incident at the construction site]
Catte was someone who always worked hard to help civilians in need.
Though he was often exhausted, he found strength in Ruby's support, who was always there for him during tough times.
But despite Catte's kindness and efforts to help others, it didn't bring him peace.
One night, without Ruby's knowledge, he quietly slipped out of the house, giving in to a bad habit — borrowing money from his own brother, Lavirian.
(Lavirian's Headquarters)
Catte entered the place where all the Top Alphas gathered — a place where they hunted for Omegas to use as playthings.
"Lavirian… Can I borrow some money?" Catte asked.
"Eh, Catte! Long time no see..." Lavirian replied, his tone playful and slightly twisted.
"Please… I need 1,000,000 for my needs. I swear I'll pay you back," Catte pleaded.
Lavirian agreed, but with a sinister condition:
"Of course… hahaha. But in return, you'll have to become my plaything," Lavirian said.
Catte, shocked and disgusted by the demand, immediately refused.
Without saying another word, he grabbed over 1,200,000 in cash from a nearby handbag and sprinted out of his brother's room.
"Get him! Don't let him escape — even if he runs like a rabbit!" Lavirian shouted furiously.
Catte kept running nonstop, searching for a place to hide.
Suddenly, the exhaustion overwhelmed him, and he vomited onto the ground — a side effect he often experienced whenever he pushed himself too hard physically.
Lavirian's men searched everywhere, desperate to capture Catte in hopes of earning Lavirian's favor, but none succeeded.
Despite their numbers, Catte remained hidden.
"Tch, damn that brat… Just wait," Lavirian muttered in anger.
Unbeknownst to everyone, there was someone undercover among the workers that night — none other than Colin.
(Today)
Catte was still being hunted by Lavirian, but he chose to pretend the issue no longer mattered.
All he could do now was hope that his father would be discharged from the hospital soon.
At home, Catte and Ruby sat together, watching TV — cherishing moments like these for the sake of memories.
Meanwhile, Colin was busy with work, knowing that soon, he would have to face Catte's brother.
(On Colin's side)
As usual, Colin was outside smoking a cigarette while waiting for his shift to end.
Caleb was organizing old files, deciding which ones to discard.
"Hey... Colin, come here for a second," Caleb called out.
"What is it?" Colin replied.
Caleb pointed to a file. Inside, alongside his name, was another — Fed.
Fed had moved to another state where he had always wanted to go and never returned, without giving a reason.
"Ah, that guy. I thought it was something serious. Besides you, Fed was also one of my closest friends since school," Colin said.
Understanding the sentiment, Caleb closed the file and set it aside.
Colin then turned to a file labeled Catte.
"Oh yeah, Caleb — want to know something?" Colin asked.
"What is it?" Caleb replied.
"The manager Catte killed… was actually one of Lavirian's men. After Lavirian found out that one of his subordinates had been killed, he figured out that Catte was still somewhere in this district," Colin explained.
"Ah… looks like your girl's made some serious trouble," Caleb responded casually.
"Yeah… I'm just wondering how she's holding up right now," Colin muttered, his mind drifting to Catte.
