CHAPTER 13

Adrian's POV

Beep. Beep. Beep.

The shrill alarm yanked me out of my restless sleep. With a groan, I slammed my hand against the clock, silencing the irritating noise.

I exhaled sharply, running a hand through my hair.

I barely slept last night.

And I knew exactly why.

Her.

Fiona.

The name alone sent a pulse of irritation through me.

What the hell did she do to me? Ever since last night, I hadn't been able to think straight. That damn kiss—her lips, her scent—kept replaying in my head like a broken record.

Tch. Annoying.

Shoving the thoughts aside, I dragged myself out of bed and stepped into the shower. Cold water cascaded down my body, but it did nothing to cool the heat simmering under my skin.

I needed a distraction.

After dressing, I threw my bag over my shoulder and headed downstairs.

At the dining table, my mother gave me a pointed look. "You're late again."

I ignored her, grabbing my coffee.

She sighed but didn't push further.

Once I was done, I walked outside. The driver was already waiting.

"Sir, we can leave now," he said, holding the door open.

I slid into the car, my mind already drifting back to last night.

Tch.

Annoying.

By the time I arrived at school, the second period had already ended.

I wasn't in a hurry to get to class. Instead, I took a detour toward the sports center. That's when I saw him.

Josh.

Standing near the changing rooms.

But something was off.

He wasn't going inside. Instead, he lingered outside, sneaking glances into the room. His posture was tense, his fingers fidgeting at his sides.

I narrowed my eyes.

Suspicious.

Leaning against the wall, I observed him.

Minutes passed.

Finally, once the last guy left the changing room, he hesitated—then slipped inside.

Interesting.

I followed.

Inside, he was standing by his locker, frozen in hesitation.

I stepped closer, my voice breaking the silence.

"Why aren't you changing?"

He spun around, startled.

I smirked.

Busted.

"I've been watching you," I continued, stepping toward him. "You waited for everyone to leave before coming in."

He fumbled for words. "I—I just don't like changing in front of people."

Liar.

I tilted my head, scanning his reaction. His stance, his body language… something about it felt familiar.

Too familiar.

My gaze trailed lower.

His build was too small. Too slender.

"Then change in front of me," I said smoothly, my voice laced with amusement.

He stiffened. "What?"

I took another step forward.

"We're both boys, aren't we?"

His eyes darted to the exit.

I smirked.

Oh no, you're not running.

Before he could bolt, I grabbed his wrist and spun him around, pinning him against the wall.

A sharp gasp escaped his lips.

Interesting.

He squirmed against my grip, but I didn't let go. Instead, I leaned in, my breath ghosting over his ear.

"I want you to change," I murmured, my voice deliberately low.

He shivered.

Oh?

I tightened my hold around his waist, feeling the undeniable softness beneath my fingers.

Too soft.

Too delicate.

A slow realization crept over me.

No.

It couldn't be.

Could it?

Curiosity sparked in my chest. I needed to know.

Keeping my grip firm, I let my fingers trail lower.

Then—

I lifted his shirt.

Just a little more.

Just a little—

"ADRIAN!"

The door burst open, and Josh's loud voice shattered the moment.

The boy in my arms shoved me away and bolted out the door.

Damn it.

I clenched my jaw, frustration curling in my gut as I watched my prey escape.

Slowly, I turned to Josh, my glare sharp.

"You have five seconds to explain why you just ruined my fun."

Josh grinned shamelessly. "Sorry for ruining your little love scene—"

My death glare shut him up instantly.

Raising his hands in surrender, he took a step back.

"Relax. I came for something important," he said, his teasing tone disappearing.

I exhaled sharply. "What is it?"

Josh's expression darkened.

"Someone's been poking around Blood Moon Pack."

My smirk vanished.

A cold, lethal edge settled over me.

Someone was trying to mess with my pack?

Big mistake.

They were about to regret it.
