The Iron Chariots of Kali Yuga

A Mahabharata Fanfiction

Chapter 1: The Sky Tears Open

The battlefield of Kurukshetra trembled under the weight of divine warriors. The sun blazed overhead as the Pandava and Kaurava armies clashed, their war cries shaking the heavens. Arjuna's arrows, glowing with celestial fire, streaked across the sky, piercing the hearts of Duryodhana's men. Bhima swung his mace, breaking bones and shattering chariots, while Karna, his golden armor gleaming, unleashed shafts of destruction upon the Pandava forces.

But then, the impossible happened.

The sky above them split apart with a deafening roar. A blinding white light engulfed the battlefield, forcing even Krishna himself to shield his divine eyes. A monstrous sound, louder than a thousand conch shells, ripped through the air.

From the blinding portal in the sky, massive metal birds descended, roaring like demons of the underworld. Their wings did not flap, yet they hovered, their dark forms casting eerie shadows upon the ground. From within them, a hailstorm of fire erupted, tearing through warriors and elephants alike.

The warriors of the Mahabharata had never seen such weapons.

Even Krishna, the Supreme Lord, narrowed his eyes.

"This is not of this Yuga," he murmured.
