Chapter 8: The Arrow That Defied Time

Classified Research Facility – United States, Present Day

The air inside the lab was sterile and cold, filled with the soft hum of high-tech machinery. Dr. Evelyn Carter adjusted her glasses, staring at the impossible artifact resting inside a reinforced glass containment unit—an arrowhead retrieved from Captain Carter's gear.

It pulsed faintly. Not like a metal heated by fire. Not like anything known to modern science.

"Dr. Carter," a voice interrupted her thoughts. It was General Thompson, his presence always carrying the weight of authority. "Tell me you have something."

Evelyn turned to him, her face a mix of fascination and fear.

"Sir, this arrowhead… it's not made of anything on the periodic table. Our spectroscopy scans show it has an atomic structure that doesn't match any known element. It's almost as if… it was forged outside the known laws of physics."

The General frowned. "You mean to tell me this thing isn't from Earth?"

Evelyn hesitated. "Not exactly, sir. I believe it's from Earth—but not from our time."

Thompson exhaled slowly. "Son of a bitch..." He turned to his aide. "Get the President's science advisors on the line. We need to know what we're dealing with. If something came back with our men, what else did they bring?"

Evelyn swallowed. "Sir… what if something else came through? Not just from their world into ours… but from another timeline entirely?"

For the first time, the hardened General looked uneasy.

"Then, doctor… we may have just started something we can't control."
