Chapter 17: The Warrior Who Defied Time

Kurukshetra – The Battlefield, 3138 BCE

The earth trembled as Karna reappeared, his golden armor shimmering with a power unseen before. A power beyond time.

The warriors of both the Pandavas and Kauravas stared in stunned silence. This was not the same Karna who had vanished.

Duryodhana's face lit up with excitement. "Karna! You have returned! But... what is this aura around you?"

Karna's eyes, once burning with anger and resentment, now held a deep, unreadable intensity. He had witnessed war beyond anything in this age—machines of steel, weapons of destruction beyond comprehension.

He turned to Krishna, who stood beside him, calm, smiling.

"Vasudeva… I understand now."

Krishna's smile widened just slightly, as if pleased.

"Do you?"

Karna exhaled. "The wars of the future—they are nothing but destruction without dharma. It is war waged by those who do not seek honor, only victory."

Bhishma, standing near Duryodhana, narrowed his eyes. "Karna, where have you been? What have you seen?"

For a brief second, Karna's mind flickered back—🚁 Gunships thundering over the battlefield.💥 Missiles reducing entire battalions to dust.🔫 Men fighting not with courage, but with machines.

"I have seen a war where the warriors do not fight. The machines fight for them."

Dronacharya, the greatest master of warfare, frowned. "Machines that fight for men? Such a thing is impossible."

Karna clenched his fists. "Not only is it possible, but it is their way of life."

Duryodhana grinned. "Then we should bring this power into our war!"

"No!" Karna's voice boomed like thunder, making even Duryodhana flinch.

Duryodhana frowned. "Why not? If they have weapons that can make me victorious, why should I not wield them?"

Karna shook his head. "Because I have seen the cost. The men of the future… they are not warriors. They are prisoners of their own destruction."

Krishna chuckled softly. "You see now, Karna. Power without dharma is meaningless."
