The battle was far from over. Aina's breath was ragged, her muscles burning from exertion, but she couldn't afford to falter. The enemies before her—assassins of Persatuan Gerhana—were relentless, their movements precise and deadly. The scent of blood mixed with the damp earth beneath her feet, and the cries of the fallen still echoed in her ears.
Tok Rimau, despite the arrow lodged in his shoulder, remained a force of nature. His Parang Seligi carved through the air, deflecting strikes and countering with deadly precision. But Aina knew he couldn't hold on much longer. The odds were shifting, and they were dangerously close to being overwhelmed.
A low growl rippled through the air.
Aina's blood ran cold.
From the depths of the jungle, a monstrous figure emerged—twisted, humanoid, but with glowing red eyes and elongated claws. A Jembalang Datai, a war specter bound by blood magic, had been summoned.
"This is bad," Tok Rimau muttered under his breath, tightening his grip on his weapon.
The creature lunged.
Aina barely dodged, feeling the wind whip past her as its claws slashed through the air. Her heartbeat thundered in her ears. She had read about these creatures, whispered in old legends, but seeing one in the flesh was far worse than she could have imagined.
She couldn't afford hesitation.
Twirling her Kerambit Bulan, she shifted her stance, her mind racing. The Jembalang was strong, but it had weaknesses. If she could just—
A deafening roar shattered the night.
Out of nowhere, a streak of golden light cut across the battlefield. The Jembalang shrieked, reeling back as the light struck it. Aina turned, her eyes widening.
A lone figure in flowing robes stood atop a moss-covered boulder, his hand outstretched. His aura crackled with raw energy, his presence commanding.
"You fight the darkness with mere blades?" His voice was deep, edged with amusement. "Let me show you how to fight with light."
Aina had no idea who he was, but one thing was certain—the tide of battle had just turned.
And so had the course of her destiny.
