Chapter 7

Nitish's arrival at the Punjab Monarchs had sent shockwaves through the team's analytical department. The existing analysts, who had been working with the team for years, were not pleased with the sudden introduction of a new face, especially one who had come from nowhere. They saw Nitish as a threat, a young upstart who was trying to take their place.

The analysts, led by the experienced and respected, Ramesh, had always been a tight-knit group. They had worked together for years, developing a system and a way of working that had become second nature to them. They were a well-oiled machine, and they didn't want anyone to disrupt their rhythm.

Nitish, with his fresh perspective and new ideas, was seen as a disruptor. The analysts didn't want to hear his suggestions or consider his proposals. They were convinced that they knew better, that their years of experience and expertise made them the only ones who truly understood the game.

Preeti, the co-owner of the team, had brought Nitish on board, and she was determined to give him a chance. She saw something in him that the analysts didn't - a passion and a dedication to the game that was unmatched. She believed that Nitish could bring a new perspective to the team, one that could help them win.

But the analysts were not convinced. They saw Nitish as a novice, someone who didn't understand the intricacies of the game. They didn't want to listen to his ideas or consider his suggestions. They were determined to undermine him, to make him look foolish in front of Preeti and the rest of the team.

As the days went by, the tension between Nitish and the analysts grew. They would often ignore him in meetings, or talk over him when he tried to contribute. They would dismiss his ideas out of hand, without even considering them.

Preeti tried to intervene, to smooth things over between Nitish and the analysts. She would call meetings, where she would encourage the analysts to listen to Nitish's ideas and consider his suggestions. But the analysts were stubborn, and they refused to budge.

One day, Preeti called a meeting with the entire analytical team. She wanted to discuss the team's strategy, and she wanted to hear from everyone. Nitish was nervous, but he was determined to make his voice heard. He had been working tirelessly, pouring over data and statistics, and he had come up with a plan that he was convinced would work.

As the meeting began, Nitish presented his plan. He spoke confidently, outlining his ideas and explaining why he thought they would work. The analysts listened, their faces skeptical, but Preeti was impressed. She saw the passion and the conviction in Nitish's eyes, and she knew that he was onto something.

But the analysts were not convinced. They began to argue, to pick apart Nitish's plan and find fault with it. They were determined to undermine him, to make him look foolish in front of Preeti and the rest of the team.

Preeti listened, her face growing increasingly frustrated. She knew that the analysts were being unfair, that they were not giving Nitish a chance. She decided to take a stand, to support Nitish and his plan.

"I think we should go with Nitish's plan," she said, her voice firm. "I believe it has the potential to work, and I think we should give it a try."

The analysts were shocked. They had not expected Preeti to support Nitish, and they were angry. They began to argue, to protest, but Preeti was firm. She would not be swayed, and she would not back down.

In the end, the analysts quit. They walked out of the meeting, refusing to work with Nitish and his plan. Preeti was left alone, with Nitish by her side.

Nitish was sad. He had never intended to cause any trouble, and he had never wanted to upset the analysts. He had just wanted to help the team, to contribute in any way that he could.

As he sat in the room, feeling defeated and alone, there was a knock at the door. Nitish looked up, wondering who it could be. And then, he saw him - Shreyas, the team's captain, standing in the doorway with a smile on his face.

"Hey, Nitish," Shreyas said, his voice warm. "I heard what happened. I'm sorry about the analysts. They can be a bit stubborn at times."

Nitish smiled, feeling a sense of relief. "It's okay, Shreyas. I understand. I just want to help the team, and I'll do whatever it takes to make that happen."

Shreyas nodded, his eyes serious. "I know you do, Nitish. And I believe in you. I think you have a lot to offer, and I'm willing to give you a chance."

Nitish's heart swelled with gratitude. He had never expected Shreyas to support him, and he was touched by the captain's kindness.

"Thank you, Shreyas," Nitish said, his voice filled with emotion. "That means a lot to me. I won't let you down, I promise."

Shreyas smiled, his face warm. "I know you won't, Nitish. You're a talented young man, and I'm excited to see what you can do. Let's work together, and let's make this team great again."

And with that, Nitish felt a sense of hope. He knew that he still had a long way to go, but he also knew that he was not alone. He had Shreyas, and he had Preeti, and together, they could achieve great things. The future was bright, and Nitish was ready to face it head-on.
