"Let me see... These are all Doctor's research notes? He didn't take or destroy them? Or did he think they were unimportant and not worth destroying?" Yun Fan flipped through the notes. Having studied a bit of machinery under the Cloud Retainer, he could somewhat understand the contents.
"Hey, commoner! What are you doing? Get out of the way!" Just as Yun Fan was reading, a slightly urgent voice reached his ears. He felt someone pull his arm, and the next moment, the spot where he had been standing was obliterated by a missile.
"That was close," the newcomer sighed in relief. She had seen the young man standing there motionless, seemingly in shock. Fortunately, she was fast enough to pull him back from the brink of death.
"You..." Yun Fan looked at the girl's beautiful blue hair and her serious yet concerned expression, then smiled. Wasn't this Eula, who held the record for the longest rerun?
Why was she in this ruin? Did Acting Grand Master Jean send her to investigate?
Eula thought the young man wanted to thank her and was about to wave it off when she heard him say:
"You saved me without my permission. I'll remember this!"
Eula: ???
Who am I? Where am I? What am I doing?
Eula was stunned. This guy wasn't following the script! He stole my line! How dare he! I'll remember this!
"Haha, thank you for your help, Miss Eula. I'm truly grateful," Yun Fan couldn't help but laugh at Eula's bewildered expression. He had always wanted to see how the "vengeful knight" would react to having her catchphrase used against her, and now he finally got his chance.
"Hmph, daring to tease me? I'll remember this!" Eula snorted, gripping her Favonius Greatsword and assuming the starting stance of the Favonius Bladework, ready to face the Ruin Guards.
Yun Fan noticed something different from the game. From Diluc to Jean to Eula, they all used four-star Favonius weapons, not the five-star weapons seen in the game.
So far, the only five-star weapons Yun Fan had seen were Zhongli's Vortex Vanquisher and Xiao's Primordial Jade Winged-Spear. Shenhe also used the four-star Lithic Spear, possibly because the Cloud Retainer hadn't yet entrusted her with the Calamity Queller due to her still-developing skills.
Perhaps in the real Teyvat, five-star weapons remained largely legendary.
"Judgment!" Eula swung her greatsword, moving gracefully between the Ruin Guards with dance-like steps. Each movement carried lethal intent, leaving deep gashes in the Ruin Guards' bodies.
This didn't last long, however. The Ruin Guards' eyes turned red, and they began spinning.
One spinning Ruin Guard was manageable, but multiple spinning Ruin Guards were a nightmare. Once caught in their whirlwind, one might spin to death without ever touching the ground.
"Tch, find a chance to escape! I'll cover you!" Without waiting for Yun Fan's response, Eula dashed forward like a leopard, leaping onto the head of a Ruin Guard. Her Vision glowed at her waist.
"Glacial Illumination!" Her Favonius Greatsword erupted with bone-chilling Cryo energy, cleanly slicing the Ruin Guard in half diagonally. Without its core, the Ruin Guard stopped spinning and collapsed.
But this was just one of many. Dozens more awaited her, and Elemental Bursts couldn't be used recklessly.
Boom! After dozens of slashes, the accumulated energy of the Lightfall Sword exploded, its shockwave hitting nearly all the Ruin Guards. However, it didn't deal significant damage. Ruin Guards had high physical resistance, making them Eula's natural counter.
Realizing she couldn't defeat them, Eula prepared to retreat and report the situation to the Knights of Favonius, who would send troops to handle it.
"Impressive as always, Miss Eula," Yun Fan clapped, praising her. Tsk tsk, despite her 'extra weight,' Eula's agility was remarkable.
Eula turned sharply, only to see Yun Fan still standing there watching the battle instead of fleeing. She felt a headache coming on.
Don't cause me more trouble!
"Don't worry, Miss Eula. Leave the rest to me," Yun Fan lightly tapped the ground and teleported into the air. Golden lightning, distinct from Teyvat's Electro energy, crackled around him like a wandering dragon.
Yun Fan didn't want to waste any more time here. He needed to deal with these Ruin Guards quickly, as he still had many things to do—like spending time with Barbara...
"Eula, fall back," Yun Fan said calmly, his silver bangs covering one eye, while the other glowed with golden light.
"Ordering a noble around? I'll remember this!" Eula grumbled but obediently retreated behind Yun Fan.
"Come forth, Divine Lord!" With Yun Fan's words, lightning coalesced into a hundred-meter-tall golden thunder giant, towering like a colossus.
It had been three years since his battle with Zhongli, and Yun Fan hadn't summoned the Divine Lord since. Today, using it against these Ruin Guards was a small test of its power.
The Divine Lord raised its massive blade and swung it down at the Ruin Guards, which only reached up to its knees.
The crackling of electricity and the shattering of mechanical parts filled the air, the noise forcing Eula to cover her ears.
"Cough..." The dust from the attack entered Eula's nose, causing her to cough uncontrollably.
"Just who are you?" Eula gazed dazedly at the god-like figure in the sky. No, at this moment, he was a true god.
"Got it. This is the last tear crystal," Yun Fan tossed the final tear crystal to Venti, his tone laced with annoyance.
"As expected of you, Mr. Yun Fan~" Venti chuckled as he caught the tear, but his expression soon turned serious.
"Dvalin's tears are becoming more tainted. We need to hurry, Traveler. Every minute we delay, Dvalin's suffering deepens."
"Mm," Lumine took the tear crystal, and in her hands, it once again emitted a cyan glow.
