Chapter 10: "The Kidnapping"
Emily struggled to break free from the woman's grasp, but she was too strong. She was dragged away from Ryan, who was shouting and trying to fight his way past Mike.
As Emily was pulled out of the coffee shop, she caught a glimpse of Ryan's desperate face. She knew he would do everything in his power to rescue her.
The woman dragged Emily to a waiting car, where a driver was waiting. Emily was thrown into the backseat, and the woman got in beside her.
As the car sped away from the coffee shop, Emily tried to think clearly. She had to come up with a plan to escape.
But before she could think of anything, the woman spoke up. "You're going to pay for what you did," she said, her voice dripping with malice.
Emily's heart was racing. What did this woman want from her?
As the car drove through the streets, Emily tried to get a glimpse of where they were going. But the woman pulled down the window shade, blocking her view.
Emily was trapped, with no way to escape. She was at the mercy of this woman, who seemed to have a personal vendetta against her.
As the car drove on, Emily's mind was racing. Who was this woman? What did she want?
And where was Ryan? Was he looking for her?
As the minutes ticked by, Emily's anxiety grew. She was running out of time.
The car finally came to a stop, and the woman pulled Emily out of the backseat. They were in a deserted warehouse on the outskirts of town.
Emily's heart was racing as the woman dragged her deeper into the warehouse. She knew she had to think fast if she was going to escape.
But as they reached the center of the warehouse, Emily saw something that made her blood run cold.
A figure was waiting for her, a figure she recognized.
It was Jack.
Emily's eyes widened in horror as Jack smiled at her. "Welcome, Emily," he said. "I've been waiting for you."
As Emily struggled to break free from the woman's grasp, she knew she was in grave danger. She was trapped, with no way to escape.
And as Jack began to walk towards her, Emily knew she was running out of time.
As Jack approached her, Emily could see the malice in his eyes. She knew she had to think fast if she was going to get out of this alive.
The woman who had kidnapped her was still holding her arms, but Emily knew she had to try and break free. She struggled and kicked, but the woman was too strong.
Just as Jack was about to reach her, Emily heard a noise behind her. She turned to see Ryan bursting into the warehouse, his eyes scanning the room frantically.
"Emily!" he shouted, spotting her. "I'm here!"
Emily's heart leapt with joy. Ryan had come for her.
But Jack just laughed. "You're too late," he sneered. "She's mine now."
Ryan charged towards Jack, but the woman who had kidnapped Emily stepped in his way. "You're not going anywhere," she snarled.
Ryan tried to fight her off, but she was too strong. Emily watched in horror as Ryan was overpowered.
Just as all hope seemed lost, Emily remembered the self-defense classes she had taken. She used all her strength to break free from the woman's grasp and deliver a swift kick to her stomach.
The woman doubled over in pain, giving Ryan the opportunity to break free. He charged towards Jack, who was now standing over Emily, a sneer on his face.
Ryan tackled Jack to the ground, and the two men began to fight. Emily watched in amazement as Ryan took down Jack with ease.
But just as Ryan was about to deliver the final blow, the woman who had kidnapped Emily appeared out of nowhere and hit him over the head with a pipe.
Ryan crumpled to the ground, unconscious. Emily screamed in horror.
Jack stood up, a smile on his face. "You'll never escape," he sneered.
Emily knew she had to think fast. She looked around the warehouse, desperate for a way out.
And then she saw it. A small door at the back of the warehouse, slightly ajar.
Without hesitation, Emily made a run for the door. She could hear Jack shouting behind her, but she didn't look back.
She burst through the door and found herself in a narrow alleyway. She ran as fast as she could, her heart pounding in her chest.
But as she emerged from the alleyway, Emily realized she was lost. She had no idea where she was or where she was going.
And then she heard footsteps behind her. Jack had found her.
Emily's heart sank. She was trapped.
As Emily ran, she could hear Jack's footsteps getting closer and closer. She knew she had to think fast if she was going to get away.
She spotted a taxi driving down the street and waved her arms wildly to flag it down. The taxi screeched to a halt, and Emily jumped in, slamming the door shut behind her.
"Where to?" the taxi driver asked, looking at her in the rearview mirror.
Emily hesitated, unsure of where to go. She didn't know if Ryan was okay, or if Jack had hurt him.
"Just drive," Emily said finally. "Get me out of here."
The taxi driver nodded and sped away from the curb. Emily looked back, seeing Jack standing in the middle of the street, his face twisted with rage.
As the taxi drove through the streets, Emily tried to calm down. She was safe, for the moment.
But she knew she couldn't stay hidden forever. She had to find a way to stop Jack, once and for all.
The taxi driver looked at her in the rearview mirror. "You okay, miss?" he asked.
Emily nodded, trying to smile. "Yeah, I'm fine. Thanks."
The taxi driver nodded and continued driving. Emily sat back, trying to think.
She knew she had to find Ryan, and make sure he was okay. And then she had to come up with a plan to stop Jack.
As the taxi drove on, Emily's mind was racing. She was determined to stop Jack, no matter what it took.
But as she looked out the window, Emily saw something that made her blood run cold.
A black SUV was following them, its tinted windows reflecting the sunlight.
Emily's heart sank. Jack had found her.
"Step on it," Emily said to the taxi driver, her voice low and urgent.
The taxi driver looked at her in the rearview mirror, his eyes widening in surprise. "What's wrong?" he asked.
"Just drive," Emily said, her eyes fixed on the SUV behind them.
The taxi driver nodded and sped up, weaving in and out of traffic. Emily held on tight, her heart pounding in her chest.
As they drove through the streets, Emily knew she was running out of time. She had to come up with a plan, and fast.
But as she looked back at the SUV, Emily saw something that made her heart skip a beat.
Ryan was driving the SUV, his eyes locked on hers.
Emily's heart soared. Ryan was alive, and he was coming for her.
But as she looked at Ryan, Emily saw something else. Something that made her blood run cold.
Mike was sitting in the passenger seat, a sly grin spreading across his face.
Emily's eyes widened in horror. Mike was working with Jack, and now he had Ryan.
As the taxi driver continued to drive, Emily knew she was in grave danger. She was trapped, with no way to escape.
And as she looked back at the SUV, Emily knew she was running out of time. She had to think fast, or she would be caught
