Chapter 30: The Desperate Escape
Emily's heart was racing as she processed Alex's warning. The Wrights were closing in, and they needed to get out of there, fast.
Ben's eyes were locked on Alex's face, his expression serious. "How did you find us?" he asked.
Alex hesitated, his eyes darting towards Emily's father. "I've been tracking the Wrights' movements," he said. "I knew they were getting close."
Emily's father nodded, his face grim. "We need to get out of here, now," he said.
As they quickly gathered their things, Emily's mind was racing with questions. Where would they go? How would they escape?
But before she could ask any questions, Ben took her hand and pulled her towards the door. "We need to move, now," he said.
As they ran through the streets, Emily's heart was pounding in her chest. She knew that the Wrights were closing in, and she wondered if they would make it out alive.
But Ben was determined, his eyes fixed on some point in the distance. Emily trusted him, and she knew that he would do everything in his power to keep her safe.
As they turned a corner, Emily saw a car waiting for them. It was an old sedan, with tinted windows and a sleek design.
"Get in," Ben said, opening the door for Emily.
As they sped away from the safe house, Emily felt a surge of relief. They had made it out, at least for now.
But as she looked back, Emily saw a group of men standing in the street, watching them leave. They were the Wrights' goons, and Emily knew that they would not give up easily.
"Ben, look," Emily said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Ben's eyes flicked towards the rearview mirror, his expression grim. "We need to lose them," he said.
As they sped through the streets, Emily's heart was racing with fear. She knew that they were in grave danger, and she wondered if they would make it out alive.
But Ben was determined, his eyes fixed on the road ahead. Emily trusted him, and she knew that he would do everything in his power to keep her safe.
As they turned a corner, Emily saw a narrow alleyway up ahead. Ben swerved the car into the alleyway, narrowly avoiding a group of pedestrians.
As they emerged from the alleyway, Emily saw a crowded marketplace up ahead. Ben drove the car into the marketplace, weaving in and out of the stalls.
Emily's heart was pounding in her chest as they narrowly avoided collisions with the stalls. But Ben was a skilled driver, and he expertly navigated the crowded marketplace.
As they emerged from the marketplace, Emily saw a clear road up ahead. Ben floored it, speeding away from the Wrights' goons.
As they drove, Emily felt a surge of relief. They had made it out, at least for now.
But as she looked back, Emily saw the Wrights' goons in the distance, still chasing them. Emily knew that they would not give up easily.
