Chapter 69: Wild Wolf's Request—Leave Her Here!

This silver-haired youth was indeed from the Morris family!

Staring into those heterochromatic silver and purple eyes, Wild Wolf said, "My given name is Helan Feng, but the townsfolk call me Wild Wolf. I've come late at night for two reasons. First, I need to clarify something: tonight, a vampire hunted humans in the town. Is this related to the Morris family? Second…"

He paused, glancing down at the girl in his arms, and took a deep breath. "I need your help."

"Wait. You said a vampire hunted humans in town? Are you certain it was a vampire?" Lestat asked, his brow furrowed.

Wild Wolf replied firmly, "I'm certain."

Lestat fell silent for a moment before saying, "Recently, we discovered a strange drug in the town. It alters human physiology, granting ordinary people immense strength for a limited time. Those who take it have blood-red eyes and feel no pain, making them appear like vampires, but they're still human at their core."

Wild Wolf was unaware of this development in the town. Could the adversary he faced tonight not have been a vampire?

But as he recalled the details of the battle, he dismissed the doubt. "I didn't know about this drug, but what I encountered tonight was undoubtedly a vampire. It feared fire and silver weapons. Its speed rivaled that of a motorcycle. Is that something a drug could achieve? Moreover, during the fight, it left us with a parting remark: 'You inferior humans.'"

Hearing this, Lestat and Sheffield exchanged a glance, their faces reflecting surprise.

Lestat said, "Sheffield, please head to the town and inspect those ** ."

"At once, my lord," Sheffield replied, placing his right hand over his chest in a gesture of respect.

"Wait," Wild Wolf interjected.

Sheffield looked at the human on the motorcycle, puzzled.

"I've left my men guarding the scene. If you want to inspect the ** , you'll need to mention my name—Wild Wolf," he explained.

This human's attention to detail confirmed his lineage as a descendant of the Helan family. Sheffield nodded solemnly. "Understood, Wild Wolf."

With that, a gust of wind swept past Wild Wolf's ear, and Sheffield vanished from the castle grounds.

"Now, how may I assist you?" Lestat asked, his tone noticeably softer.

His opinion of this human had shifted. Though Wild Wolf appeared rugged and imposing, his courage and meticulousness proved he was no mere brute.

"I hope… you can erase this girl's fear," Wild Wolf said. "She encountered that vampire tonight. If I hadn't arrived in time, she would have been a ** . Yet, the ** she endured was immense—she's still unconscious."

Wild Wolf couldn't imagine how this brave, young girl would cope when she awoke. He recalled her reaction when she saw the ** . She had never faced true darkness before, and he refused to let the "devil" ruin her future. He wanted her to remain courageous.

"A girl?"

Lestat's gaze shifted to the figure in Wild Wolf's arms. She was clad in heavy motorcycle gear and a helmet, but there was something familiar about her presence.

Then, another voice echoed from within the castle—cold and unyielding.

"Leave her here. You may go."

A dark shadow descended from the air, and a young figure landed in front of Wild Wolf.
