Chapter 112: The Vampire’s Deception, The Trap is Set

"Woof! Woof! Woof!"

"Woof! Woof!"

An Ran held a broom in one hand and cautiously opened the door, peeking outside. Sure enough, two dogs were barking relentlessly at the entrance. Their noise intensified when they noticed the door had opened.

Annoyed by the incessant barking, An Ran furrowed her brows and waved the broom a few times, shouting, "Shoo! Go away! Leave this place!"

However, the stray dogs refused to leave. They continued their relentless howling. An Ran scanned the area but found nothing unusual. What were these dogs so agitated about? Were they just hungry?

Their eyes glowed eerily in the dark, which was unsettling. Though she wanted to chase them away, she hesitated, fearing they might attack her. If she were bitten and contracted rabies, it would be a disaster.

After a moment's thought, An Ran closed the door firmly.

She hurried to the kitchen and grabbed two large bones. Without opening the door this time, she tossed the bones over the wall and called out, "Hey! Here's something tasty for you! Go on, eat up, and stop barking, okay?"

The aroma of the bones seemed to distract the dogs. The barking finally ceased.

An Ran sighed in relief. They must have been starving! Now that the noise had stopped, she could finally relax. She turned and headed back inside.

But before she could step into the house, a desperate cry echoed from outside. "Help! Don't bite me!"

The dogs' barks returned, accompanied by a man's terrified screams. "Ah! My leg! Help—help!"

Shocked that the stray dogs had attacked someone, An Ran grabbed the broom again and rushed to the door. She flung it open to find a man lying on the ground, struggling as the two dogs circled him menacingly.

"Stupid dogs! Get away!" An Ran shouted, swinging the broom hard at the dogs' heads.

The blows landed with a thud, and the dogs yelped in pain before slinking away into the darkness…

The man who had been attacked lay on the ground, groaning in pain. An Ran knelt beside him, calling out, "Sir! Sir! Can you get up? You need to go to the hospital and get a rabies shot!"

As the man struggled to sit up, An Ran quickly supported his shoulder. His clothes were torn, and it was clear he had been bitten.

"Thank you, young lady. I'm fine," the man said, his voice hoarse but no longer weak.

He chuckled inwardly. Finally, he had managed to lure the overly cautious girl out!

Earlier, he had tried to force his way into the house, only to be thwarted by a powerful barrier surrounding the property. No matter what he tried, he couldn't break through.

As he pondered his next move, two stray dogs appeared on the road. A plan formed in his mind. Using his vampire hypnosis, he compelled the dogs to bark incessantly at the house. Surely, someone inside would come out to investigate.

From his hiding spot in a nearby tree, he watched as the girl he sought finally appeared. To his frustration, she didn't step outside—instead, she tossed bones over the wall and shut the door again. It had taken all his self-control not to tear her apart right then.

Determined, he hypnotized the dogs once more and staged an attack, playing the victim himself. This time, the girl fell for the ruse.

"Are you really okay?" An Ran asked skeptically.

The man slowly lifted his head, revealing a pair of glowing red eyes in the darkness…

His voice was low and deliberate as he said, "I'm perfectly fine. Because the one in trouble… is you…"
