Chapter 15: Water Element

Chapter 15: Water Element

[Since you are no longer in Konoha, the Konoha Shinobi buff will not work]

As I read that notification, I kept up with Naido-sensei, who was moving at a speed I could keep up with.

I still had my weight set and Guys spandex equipment on so that I was training while moving. Naido-sensei did not seem to particularly mind that.

As I was moving, I also thought more about what had just happened. If Danzo was there, it might mean that Kazuto was captured by the root.

During our travels, Naido sensei and I didn't really communicate at all.

We simply focussed on our travel.

"We will stop here for a while, Shikomu. It will take us 7 days on foot with this pace to reach the place. Since this mission is not of the utmost importance, and we have a time limit of 3 months, I wish to go slower and take 2 weeks to go there." Naido-sensei said.

"Sensei, if it's 3 months, aren't we cutting it close to the Chunin Selection Exams?" I asked.

"We are by a bit. The exams are 4 months from now and we might have to extend our missions depending on the severity of the missions. But these are sacrifices that ninjas face for the village, Shikumo." Naido-sensei said. "That and the exams aren't isn't the only way to become a Chunin. You can apply for field promotion after a certain amount of missions."

I nodded at what he said, but I was still internally a little dissatisfied. The exams were a major part of the anime. Characters such as Orochimaru and Jiraiya would be introduced.

But that didn't bum me down too much. Sure rank was important but it's not like I had a lot to do during the exams. Skipping them might not be the worst case.

"Anyways during this time, I think it would be smart to do some elemental training." Naido sensei said to which I nodded.

I agreed, it was about time I specifically dived into the manipulation of my Elemental Chakra.

"Sensei if you don't mind me asking, what is your element?" I questioned, to which he looked at me with confusion.

"Did I not tell you?"

"You don't really talk unless spoken to…sensei."

"I do have that habit." Naido nodded, as he continued, "Right, my main element is Lightning."

I turned to him in shock and asked, "So why do you always use the Earth element?"

"Ah…" He said, "That's cause I'm bored, I'm training in my weakest element for fun."

I deadpanned at him. He showed extreme mastery over the earth-element, being able to use it without any hand signs whatsoever. That was for fun?

"So, which one do you want to focus on?" Naido sensei asked, to which I had a fairly easy answer.

Among the 2 elements I had, I knew for a fact that the Village Hidden in the Leaves had an extensive stash of one specific element.

After all, one of their Hokages basically made 90% of the Jutsus for them.

"Water." I said to which Naido sensei shrugged, clearly not really caring about my choice.

Naido sensei then raised his hand and right at the tips of his finger I was able to visibly see an insane amount of moisture in the air gather.

As the moisture gathered, it eventually physically formed into water droplets, and I couldn't help but be shocked at his display of insane Water Elemental Mastery.

This guy…according to the Lore of the Naruto world, Indra had made Hand signs into a thing to more easily channel chakra.

Following this, it was easy to manipulate chakra into other elements.

Yet how is this man able to use the Elements so easily…almost as if he is 'Bending' them?!

"Well, I guess you want to be somewhere around this level of comfort."

SAY WHAT?!

What a completely useless Jonin.

Who gives such vague instructions?!

Now that I think about it, even Kakashi seemed to be equally useless when teaching.

However, Jiraiya definitely seemed like a decent teacher.

But my sensei…he literally just pointed at a mini pond and said, 'Make this ripple. Oh, and don't be in contact with it.'

???

What was one even meant to do in this situation?

Right now as Naido sensei was sitting, once again upside down at the bottom of a tree branch, I was sitting in front of the pond.

I had 8 Shadow Clones as well to speed up this process as we all had all of our hands raised and in front of the pond.

Wasn't this boderlining the manipulation of Natural Energy? To be able to become one with Nature, and then 'move' the water inside of the pond.

But I guess if it did require such extreme amounts of control, Nadio Sensei wouldn't ask me to do this.

"Why is this taking you so long?" Naido sensei asked as I couldn't help but frown. What did he mean long?

Elemental manipulation was meant to take years! I wasn't like Naruto who had a thousand clones to help him.

Naido sensei seemed impressed that I figured out how to use the Shadow Clone technique like this so soon when I only had it for a while.

"If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take you sensei?" I questioned.

"Now why does that matter? All that matters is it's taking you too long." Naido sensei said as he got off of the tree and slowly walked towards me.

"You know what I will give you a hint about how I manipulate chakra." He said as he squatted right beside me.

Well, the main me.

Naido-sensei rested his elbows on his knees, gazing at the pond with a bored expression. "You're overthinking it, Shikomu."

I raised an eyebrow. "Am I? You literally just told me to move water without touching it."

"Yeah, and you're trying to force it to happen. That's why you're failing." He lifted his hand, palm facing the water.

As he continued, a soft, almost transparent light blue chakra seeped from his palm, flowing downward like mist before vanishing the moment it touched the surface. The water didn't explode, thrash, or behave unnaturally.

Instead, a single ripple formed—perfectly circular, smooth, and expanding outward in an almost hypnotic rhythm.

I stared.

"How did you—"

"Feel the water," he interrupted, his gaze fixed on the pond. "Every molecule, every drop, every shift. Don't just push it with chakra like some brute. That's the mistake everyone makes at first."

He turned toward me and tapped my forehead lightly with two fingers. "You're trying to move water as if it's an object. But water isn't an object—it's movement itself. You don't control it by pushing. You guide it by understanding it."

I frowned, trying to process his words.

Naido-sensei smirked. "Close your eyes. Stop using chakra for a second. Just… feel it."

I hesitated but did as he said.

Feel the water?

I focused, blocking out the sound of rustling leaves and distant birds. My mind honed in on the pond.

The way the surface shifted ever so slightly from the breeze.

The way droplets evaporated into the air.

The way the stillness wasn't really stillness at all.

Naido-sensei's voice cut through my concentration.

"Now, weave your chakra between the molecules. Not through brute force, but like a current running through a river. Subtle. Controlled. Precise."

I exhaled slowly, lifted my palm, and let my chakra flow.

It spread out—not wildly, but delicately—seeping into the water in a way I hadn't done before. And then—

A ripple.

It was small, barely noticeable, but it was there.

I opened my eyes, and for the first time, Naido-sensei grinned.

"Not bad, kid."

(After a couple of days)

"Shikoumu, I want to hear your thoughts." Naido sensei asked, as we packed our supplies. We would now be officially entering enemy territory.

"Yes, sensei?" I asked.

"How would you propose infiltration? From now on it would be flat lands to the land of Earth from this side of the border. How should we get past enemy ninjas?"

I pondered over his question for a bit. I didn't actually learn stealth tactics too well, but I made sure to read over it. I was supposed to be a ninja after all.

"Sensei, I propose we stake out the border for a bit and watch how the enemy Ninja move. After figuring out their guarding patterns we should make more decisions." I told him.

He nodded at me, as he carried his backpack and placed it inside of his storage scroll.

I too did the same with the scroll he had provided me.

"I already know all those details. While we moved slowly, I already had Shadow-clones scout the area. I just wanted your thoughts on it." Naido sensei said.

He probably sent them right at the start of the mission, since I never saw him make any clones. How much chakra did sensei have? Is he a Kage level shinobi?

"The Ninja on this side of the border are only Chunin, I put most of them in a Genjutsu and let them be. They would report to their Jounin in the same way. I will break it in 30 minutes to not make the Jonin in this area suspicious, so hurry up." He said as he used the Body-flicker Jutsu.

Sensei already told me earlier to take off my training weights since it wasn't safe anymore.

We would still take breaks to do chakra control and Fuinjutsu practice but that was about it.

Sensei and I had to travel through terrain I had never seen, even back inside of my old planet, let alone the post-nuclear Earth.

We moved through valleys, plateaus and even some mountains.

As we moved through, Sensei taught me a lot about infiltration points. I even learnt a basic D-rank jutsu to disguise myself to civilians.

[Genjutsu: Imaginary Illusion Jutsu

Rank: D

Description: The user emits a small chakra wave to make it so he gives off an illusion like a phantom. This is an extremely low ranking Genjutsu and can be seen through by any Ninja with decent deception skills from the Average Genin rank

Proficiency:50/100 ]

Sensei believed this would be enough for now since we would be spying civilians, and if Ninja were there he could just cast the Genjutsu. However I made sure to note down that I had to train in Genjutsu.

Sure I didn't want to be a Kurenai, but I would be a fool to not train in something that could make my life so much easier. Being a Ninja isn't just being strong, at least for now.

Sure, during the 4th-great Ninja war, if that even happens, I could spam strong Jutsu, but for now, I needed to be a good all-rounded Ninja that was prepared for anything.

That is how I will be the top player in this game.

Authors note:

What do you guys think the next Bloodline of MC should be?

I don't really want to do any eye based ones such as Uchiha or Hyuuga, since I have a plan for the MC's occular powers. That being said, I need an idea.

i don't mind making a unique bloodline (since in my future chapters I have already begun doing that), if needed I can make a unique bloodline to complement the Senju bloodline.

You can read some chapters ahead if you want to on my p#treon.com/Fat_Cultivator
