Sweet Revenge

It's been three days now and I've been studying really hard, at night and during school time. Other hours of my day are officially filled with work and endless work.

Anyway, I think I'm more than ready for that test. I don't have much textbooks, only those given to me by the school during registration but that's not a problem. Sommy and Sunday have tons of textbooks so I help myself to them- secretly.

Today's Friday and the day my uncle and his wife will leave for a business trip to Lagos. I can tell my aunty is not happy. Not that it shows on her face or behaviour but I've studied her far too long for me to be fooled.

Is it because of her lover? I've taken to searching her messages at each opportunity I get but there's nothing fishy so far.

They dropped their kids at their various schools and left for the airport. Little miss moi is going to trek, as usual.

I've perfected my plans for tomorrow. It's going to be an epic bomb blast. I couldn't have been more happy. Watch out little cousins, plus the big ones.

Jenny and I are officially ex- friends. Since I told them about the the test, she's kind of stopped talking to me. I asked her why she's no longer talking to me on Wednesday and she told me quite clearly that she wanted to have nothing to do with a girl who wants to be silenced.

Kenzy has also backed off. I didn't notice he is avoiding me till yesterday when I was sitting all alone on what used to be our lunch table.

When I confronted him, he said he's really sorry but we couldn't be seen together anymore in case the silencer targets him through me.

What makes me angry is that he's hanging out with the friends I helped him make. Mummy's so mad.

None of that means that I'm not writing the test or that I don't suspect them, which is pretty lame since I literally suspect all the former B students.

I wish I'm still in America where I spent an entire year when I was ten. That was the year before my parents died. At least, my friends there were more adventurous.

Anyway, something strange happened today, well not so strange but suspicious though.

While coming back from Biology lab, Jenny and her neighbour were walking ahead of me.

They were talking about the general school life. The girl isn't exactly a loner like I thought earlier. Just reserved.

So as they were talking, I heard Jenny mention that back at the government reserved area where she lived, they don't have any electricity problem as light is on 24/7.

Pretty normal conversation right? But the government house is like two whole towns away from where I live. Why would she come all the way to my side of the town to get drugs from a chemist's shop?

Could be she came over to see someone and incidentally visited the chemist's shop. But really, with all this silencer stuff going on, I'm not ready to bet on coincidence. Maybe she's lying about where she lives. But why?

Normally, I'd have followed her home but the workload at home plus my reading schedule will be interrupted. But I do know that at any slightest opportunity, I'll find out where she really lives.

Sommy is finalizing her plans for the party tomorrow. She got her siblings to help her. Mostly threatened them into it.

Her party is going to be great from all indications. Too bad I'm going to be the party pooper. But come to think if it, I should actually not ruin the party.

I mean, imagine how fun it would be to record all the events and use it to threaten them for the rest of our lives. But how will I record it?

I don't have any camera or phone. All my gadgets were confiscated by my aunt after my parent's death on the grounds that I was too young to own them. And besides, how will I record Sunday playing football? Phones are banned in school.

An idea started brewing in my head. It's actually a good one, much better than my previous one. But first, I need to do a few things.

My cousins are busy at the living room. I followed the inbuilt kitchen and went outside.

I got a mop and a bucket, then filled the bucket with water from the outside kitchen. Thank God for the newly installed over head tank, no more town tap trips for this girl.

I went back inside, then headed straight to Sunday's room. I dropped my equipments, wrinkling my nose in disgust. Boys are such pigs. Of course I've no intention of cleaning up here, at least not now. These are just my cover up tools.

I walked to his wardrobe and started searching through tha drawers. With a smile of victory, I got out a beautiful tennis bat.

It's handle is made of something that looks like gold. It's Sunday's priceless collection, Esomchi's desired mistress since my cousin showed it to him, and my ticket to getting a camera.

I sneaked out of the house and walked rapidly towards Esomchi's house. When I got there, I found him sitting on a plastic chair, pressing his laptop.

"Hey dude," I called out.

"Why don't you wait till you get back to the States before practicing your foreign slangs?" He replied drily, "what's up?"

"Nothing, was just walking down the street, saw you and decided to pop in," I replied, making myself comfortable on a second seat.

"Since when did we start dropping by at each other's place?" He asked.

He hasn't even looked away from his laptop.

"Dude, can't you even pretend to be a gentleman?"

"Will you stop calling me that, my name is Esomchi."

"Okay...dude," I said, just for the fun of it.

He rolled his eyes and I stared in admiration. His eye rolling is certainly better than mine.

"Okay poky, what do you want?" He finally looked up at me.

"Must I want something before I visit you?"

"Technically, yes."

I laughed then, feeling as if I've come to the most perfect person in the entire world, "You know me just too. Well, I've a deal for ya."

Fifteen minutes later, I walked out with a camera in hand.

When I got home, I went straight to Kanyira's room. I quietly opened the diary near her bed and took out a thick back notebook. Kanyira's priced diary.

She got the diary when she was five and claims she set bobby traps in her room to wade off snoopers who want to read the diary, but this snooper reads the book during leisure time, which have become kind of rare nowadays.

I opened the book and went to the recent pages. It's mostly stuff that happens in school and blah, blah, blah...and bingo!

I turned back to last week Friday and there, she wrote about Georgia, the guinea pig she bought with her mum's credit card that currently lives in Paradise's house cause her mum does not like pets.

Grinning like one who won a lottery, I got my camera out from the black cellophane I hid it in and took snaps of the page. Then I gently put the book back and walked out of the room.

Next stop, Chima's room.

Too bad I found the room locked. What was I even thinking, of course it would be locked.

Even before Chima started taking in his classmate's cellphones and other accessories they don't want their parents to see (probably because they come from questionable places), he has always locked his room.

Chima is like most of my former American friends. He has a lot of cool gadgets that he is extremely protective of. So, his room is off limits hence, always locked.

I guess I just have to wait for another opportunity to get into his room and take pictures of the stuffs he has got in there.

As for tomorrow, Sommy baby will have a free and secret photographer in her party. I guess I'm just too good, imagine not charging her a dime.

With a mischievous smile on my face, I told the cousins I was going to buy petrol by the road but I went off to Paradise's house across the street to take pictures of Georgia. I love this camera thing.

It was pretty easy to get Paradise agree to let me see the pig. I told her I know of the pet and that Kanyira asked me to check up on it.

She bought the lie and let me into her room where the pet was. Her parents are not around which makes the job easier.

I gotta say, for a pig, Georgia does look kind of princessy. Which may be because she's dressed in a princess costume, with a crown and all.

I took pictures of her and when Paradise asked why, I said I wanted to capture her in her outfit. She offered to dress her up some more but I declined the offer.

As I hurried back home, I wondered why a person would go to through the trouble of buying a pet your friend gets to keep.
