Birth of Drace Abigor

Right before the egg hatched, while still hovering in the air of the secret realm, inside the egg, Drace observed the swirling mist surrounding him.

He suddenly felt he could move his hands freely. Making a grabbing gesture, he attempted to catch the mist. Instead of the expected resistance or nothingness, his hand passed through it, and a gust of fresh air greeted his outstretched fingers. That was when he realized he was about to leave this godforsaken tight yet oddly comfortable fluid chamber.

Anticipating the view beyond, Drace opened his eyes and thought to himself, 'I hope I'm born into a humble background, maybe even a poor family, so I can take my time and grow stronger. I must find the location of the Eternal Blue Star—if I'm not already there—and confront that bastard father of mine. He will pay for what he did to my mother and me. If necessary, I will destroy the Metis Royal House for failing to educate their descendants properly.'

Lost in his thoughts, the egg suddenly cracked open. The sight before him sent shivers down his spine. The sky was cloaked in an ominous, swirling darkness, and red thunderbolts descended with a deafening roar. Drace nearly panicked. 'Damn! Where are my parents? Help!'

As the couple stood deep in thought, the egg cracked faster. A tiny hand, appearing human, emerged from within, causing them to sigh in relief. However, the moment the baby's hand came into view, the once-clear blue sky was shrouded in thick darkness as if an imminent storm was about to break loose. Thunder rumbled, and lightning bolts crackled fiercely, as if the world itself was enraged by the abnormal birth.

Without warning, a massive bolt of lightning shot directly toward the hatching egg. The world seemed to freeze in that instant. The air stilled, rivers ceased to flow, leaves and tree branches halted in motion, and deep within the forests, even the beasts stopped their activities, staring in fear at the mysterious egg hovering in the sky.

"Shit!" The couple sprang forward, intent on shielding their child. Just as they were about to reach him, a sudden flash of light enveloped the egg, forming a strange energy field. The impending lightning and thunder, along with the multi-colored diamond-shaped eggshell fragments, were absorbed into the energy barrier. The absorption accelerated the hatching process, and soon, the form of a small, delicate baby was revealed.

His striking blue eyes, reminiscent of a night sky, his tiny nose, and his soft pink lips formed a breathtakingly perfect face. He bore a striking resemblance to both his mother and father, inheriting Amelia's snowy white hair and Devlin's distinctive curls—a fine combination indeed.

The sky gradually cleared, returning to its usual serene blue, as the baby continued hovering mid-air, a truly mesmerizing sight.

When the couple appeared in front of their newborn son, he gazed at them with wide, innocent eyes, as if completely oblivious to the supernatural chaos surrounding his birth. A smile tugged at his lips, as if saying, 'I'm innocent!'

In truth, Drace was deliberately acting cute and clueless. He knew very well that his birth had been anything but normal. Born as an egg and hatching from one—what kind of parents would accept such an anomaly without suspicion? He had to play his role well, or he might just lose this second chance at life.

Devlin's face twitched, his expression unreadable. 'Ah, so this is how it feels when I act innocent in front of that old man? If so, I've found my resolve to get back at him the next time he annoys me. Hehehe! This little rascal is lucky he's my son, or I might have strangled him for making my little Lialia go through such an emotional rollercoaster in one day.'

As if sensing her husband's thoughts, Amelia scooped up the baby and cuddled him close. "You're not thinking of harming our child, are you? And don't you dare tell me you're having ridiculous thoughts at a time like this—I can see it in your face, you bastard! If you dare…"

'Wow, Mom is so fierce yet so beautiful at the same time. How cute…' Drace was mid-thought when he suddenly found himself squished between two warm bodies.

Before Amelia could finish her sentence, Devlin sealed her lips with his in a passionate kiss that lasted a full four minutes. When he finally pulled away, he said, "You know it's not my fault. This little rascal made my little Lialia go through so much in just one day. He should be grateful he's my son, or I would've flung him across the realm by now." His hand rested gently on her lower back, rubbing soothing circles.

Though Amelia enjoyed the intimacy, she knew this wasn't the time for indulgence. "You should stop this now. We have a child—a child, Devlin. We're parents now."

'Finally, someone with common sense,' Drace thought, staring at his parents. But the next sentence from his mother shattered his assumptions.

"But you're always welcome when we're alone," she added, her cheeks dusted with pink.

'Never mind. I take back my compliment.'

Devlin smirked. "As you wish, my queen. But do remember, WiFi."

Something seemed to click in Amelia's mind, and she asked, "Dev, do you have a name in mind for our son?"

Drace perked up, listening intently. If it were up to him, he'd prefer to keep his name.

"I do. 'Drace.' He was born from an egg, not just any egg, but one with multi-colored diamond scales—like that of a celestial dragon. My son, Devlin Abigor's heir, will be a dragon among men." Devlin declared in a voice filled with unknown authority.

Realizing how intense his declaration sounded, he quickly added, "Sorry, little Lialia. I got too caught up in naming our son. If you have another name in mind, we can choose differently."

"You fool! That name sounds incredible, and it suits him perfectly. The more I think about it, the more I love it. How could our son have an ordinary name? 'Drace' it is!" Amelia laughed, then continued, "How could a monster like you birth a worm? If that ever happened, the world might as well end."

'Saved! And judging by their tone, they're clearly powerful experts. Nice—I hit the jackpot this time.' Drace couldn't help but feel smug about his fortunate rebirth.

Devlin smirked. "Says the woman who broke through an entire rank without lifting a finger while giving birth. How many 'monsters' do you know who can jump a major rank without undergoing years of secluded cultivation? If I weren't here with you—and also your husband—I would've thought you'd been hiding your true cultivation level."

They exchanged knowing smiles, each lost in their thoughts.

"It's time to head to the meeting hall before those old men lose their minds. I'm sure they've already heard whispers about what happened here. With the commotion this little rascal caused, the training hall must be in an uproar."

"Yes…"
