"Yes! Sect contributions will be the currency in my sect, like a family. You can even use the contribution to gain abilities like me!"
"You mean I can fly like you do!?" Another artisan called out.
"There's a possibility if you gain enough contribution, all you need is do tasks I say and you get points. Do not worry for food as I will provide that for free as long as you join" Hou stated the plan but he did not create it.
Last night as Hou was scouting the perimeter and practicing flying, Yue woke up and decided to tell Hou about a concept that was common in the outside world.
"Sects are the basis of most cultivator's, they are groups of cultivators who chose to band together under a common leader. They teach cultivation to the lower ranked disciples and give them tasks. The tasks can give the lower ranks contribution which they can exchange to become stronger. The stronger you get, the higher rank you are, the more benefits you get."
"Like a city and family, I get it! So should I create my own sect, to gain more and more parasites and resources?"
"Exactly so, when you get these juniors assign them as low rank and give them jobs which can give contribution points. Bring them in with the chance to become like you"
Back to Hou talking to the new Juniors,
"You will become low ranked Junior disciples, you should respect those above you. By exchanging points you can get resources to become stronger or otherwise more useful and important. Once you accumulate enough contribution you may become a middle ranked leader and lead a group of disciples. It does not matter your skill or talent with enough persistence you all may become better" Hou slowly raised his voice as he explained it all.
A light clapping started and everyone agreed that they would join, they'll start making the saddle.
"Okay, I'll give everyone 50 contribution points for whoever works on the saddle a significant amount. Anyone who wants to help gather wood can get 10 points per tree, I'll do the hunting myself!"
Immediately five people raised their hand,
"I can work on assembly"
"I can carve anything needed"
"I can design the plan"
"I can make the metal pieces"
"And I can do the leatherwork!"
All those who raised their hand congregated into one group, with the designer as the leader naturally.
Next were the ten remaining, all but one raised their hand that they could gather wood if they were protected.
"Naturally, I'll protect you, or more accurately my trusty partner Da here will" Hou patted Da by his side and gave a confident smile.
"Sir, can I join you in hunting, I may not be too perfect but I'm sure I can be of some use" Hamar said it and nudged at his amputated arm, but still raised his sword to show he had some use.
"Of course, actually come with me for a second" Hou gestured everyone to get to work, instructed those waiting for materials to stay near Hou but far enough away they won't hear him talking to Hamar.
"So what you wanting me for"
"I see you're a kind of leader, do you want to be a middle rank leader in the sect?"
"I'm sure grateful for the offer.. but I have to reject, I shouldn't just be given the ran, I should earn it" Hamar expressed his gratitude, even bowing slightly but ultimately he felt he was too much a burden.
"You aren't just being given it, let's just say I'm loaning you the position. If you don't do good I'll kick you out, not really but you can show your worth in the job. And I'll even through in an ability, eh" Hou tried to convince him with an ability.
"... Sure, maybe I can still be useful with an arm missin'." Hamar seemed to think for a second but didn't reject him a second time.
Hou had a few parasites he had not yet absorbed into his body, he was going to give them to Armen or René but he felt this was a good use for them.
Hou rummaged in his black robes and pulled out a tree sapling,
'Master, what do you say, you think this parasite could replace Hamar's arm?'
'I do believe so, the purpose of the spirit will is hard to read especially with the parasite casing but this feels like a physical augmentation power'
"Take this" Hou grabbed Hamar's shoulders and turn his amputated right arm towards him, he then placed a small sapling where his arm should be.
Instantly, Hou activated his blood formation again to make sure the plant would attach but not take over. The roots grew into Hamar's body reaching over his torso then going subcutaneous. The sapling grew thicker until it formed a hand shape.
Hamar was shook and fell onto the ground, incidentally using his new arm to place the fall.
"I have an arm! Its back! You really gave me a real arm..." Hamar sat on the ground and started to tear up as he stretched out him arm moving it.
Hamar stood up and moved his sword into his new arm, instantly his aura changed. It felt like a new person, he started to pose up and swung his sword, the miasma in the air followed his sword as he swung, the air being cut. It made a beautiful swoosh and Hamar put his sword back into his sheath.
Hamar went up to Hou with tears overflowing and hugged him tightly. Not some forced action but a genuine hug, and a genuine feeling a gratitude.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you"
Hamar repeatedly thanked Hou, he patted the crying old man on he back and looked forward. This is what he lived for, he wanted to get stronger yes, but that's all so people can be happy.
Hou wanted this feeling to last forever, this was what he wanted in his sect.
