Chapter Six -- Do you wanna make them pay?
Vuk's Point of View
I slam the door open and I see her, standing over a man, with blood all over and the man is dead. Her eyes widens when she sees us.
"I -- I did - he came on to me -- he tried to harm - he wanted me to betray you, he said I should spy on you - he had a g - he - he tried to hurt me." She stammers and I walk to her, crossing over the man's body. I don't care that she just murdered a man, I don't care about anything else, all I care about is that she is safe, she is alive.
"Come here." I say softly and pull off my suit, I place it on her shoulder and she sinks into me, which surprises me, but I hold her as she pants, scared and tired.
"I - I'm sorry, I blacked out, I didn't mean to kill him, but he was going to kill me." She stares at her brothers and I look at Roman, with my hand around her body, holding her steady.
"We need to clean this mess." Roman says and I nod. "The body?" Marco frowns and I shrug "Burn it." "Then, put it through a machine, no evidence must be left behind, and you sweep this place for cameras and eye witness, run a knife through their throat." Donatello ordered and he walks to Florence.
He tilts her head up and stare at her face, making sure she is not harmed, but she is, she is bleeding from her head, and her body and it hurts me.
"You are either getting a bodyguard or I'm locking you up." He snaps and I blurt "You are not locking her up, she is mine, and you will no longer threaten her."
"You had one job, Romanova and you failed at it." Donatello scoffs and I look at Florence, because she is holding on to my shirt, leaning her full body on mine, and I can see how exhausted she is.

Two hours later, we are back in New York, in one of the apartments I own, since Florence blew up our home. She is asleep and I am standing by the balcony, glancing out the streets as I go over today.
No one has ever tried to come for my family, the Romanova name is one that is known and feared across the state, especially in Europe and today, someone came for Florence, my wife, and I don't know what to do or which way to go, because violence comes natural to me and from the looks of it, it comes natural to my wife too, which makes us a deadly combination.
For the first time in a very long time, I do not know what to do, I do not know where to go. I don't know what I feel for Florence, but I know that she is my wife and her safety is my priority.
"Vuk." I hear and I turn to see Florence standing there, in a robe and I exhale "You should be in bed, recuperating." I state and she shrugs as she walks to me. "I'll be fine."
I hold on to the railing, hard, trying to control myself, but there seem to be no point, so I turn to her "Let me see you."
She turns to me and unties her rope, showing me her neck, where a bruise has formed, there are bruises on her shoulders and collar bone too and I know the Doctors cleared her, but I am still worried about her.
"I am very sorry that I could not protect you." I whisper and she smiles, pulling the rope tightly around herself "I don't need you to protect me all the time, Vuk. Thank you for coming to me though." "I will always come to you." I avow, angrily and she says nothing, we stand there in silence until something occurs to me.
"Why did you burn down the house though?" I ask and she smiles at me "I'm sorry about that, I know it must have cost a fortune, but I did not like it, it felt like a cage, and it was too big, so much bedrooms and staff and I could not move freely without bumping into someone. I want to live in a simple place, just you and I."
just you and I. I push away the lingering words and give her a look "You could have just told me and we would have moved, or I could have something built, something you like. How was your trip to Boston?" I ask and she gives me a ridiculous look and I chuckle "Before the whole chaos, how was your trip before then?"
"Not good. Roman said something about my ex boyfriend and best friend, how they were using me for money, it is one of the reasons I set the house on fire. Anyway, I went there, because I did not believe them, only to find out that they married and told everyone I died." She tells me and I stare at her in shock "Wow." "It was quite a shock." She nods and I can see how hurt she is.
"Do you wanna make them pay?" I ask, a bit too eager, because I want her ex boyfriend out of the equation, he sounds like a shitty person anyway, so it will be more of a favor than a crime.
"Maybe after this." She smiles and I nod, staring at the sky.
"I'm sorry that I killed him." She whispers and I look at her "I don't care, I don't care at all, I don't give a crap, if I was there, I would not have been so merciful. I know our marriage is dysfunctional and we are barely friends and definitely not lovers, but you are my wife, we are family, you are a Romanova, and I will burn the world for you. I am not bluffing, so whatever happens after this, I don't mind." I profess.
