March 7th asked, puzzled.
"Hmph, the Xianzhou is not so weak as to be thrown into chaos by a mere Stellaron. All systems, apart from some minor disturbances, are still fully operational."
Hearing her question, Fu Xuan gave a cold snort and put her hand on her hip.
Clearly, March 7th's comment had touched on her area of expertise.
"Since this disaster involves a Stellaron, we naturally won't stand by and do nothing."
"Oh! Mr. Welt, such righteousness earns my deep respect."
Jing Yuan cupped his hands slightly, smiling at the group — pleased to have gained more hands to help.
-----------------------------------------
"Qingque, why don't you take our esteemed guests for a walk around?"
"Eh~! But, Master Diviner, I still have the library task you assigned me."
"Oh~, but I heard the library was just organized not long ago. It shouldn't need any extra hands right now. Or... do you think that task isn't challenging enough?" Fu Xuan's eyes narrowed slightly, a chilling glint shooting straight at Qingque.
...
In the end, Qingque accepted the task in a crushing defeat.
Before Stelle left, Fu Xuan curiously glanced at the pattern on her clothes.
It was a gigantic beast howling at the sky, as if trying to tear the heavens apart.
...
"Sigh~"
"Sigh~"
"Sigh~"
Hearing the endless sighs beside her, March 7th's mouth twitched slightly. She turned her head to look at Qingque, who seemed like she had lost her backbone ever since stepping out.
"I'm just saying, isn't it a dream for most people to get a chance to appear before their superior? Why do you look like that?"
Hearing March 7th's words, Qingque barely lifted her head, looked around to make sure no outsiders were nearby, and finally began to complain.
"You guys don't know what kind of methods the old Master Diviner uses. She's completely using me like a donkey. I finally convinced her to transfer me to the leisurely, slacker-friendly library, but then suddenly, out of nowhere, she tells me to investigate what the General has been up to lately."
"Come on! I'm just a poor, weak, helpless young thing, and she wants me to investigate the General? Are you sure she's not just giving the Cloud Knights an excuse to take me out?"
"Although, yes, everyone in Luofu knows that Master Diviner wants to take the General's place, can these two big shots at least consider a normal person like me when they're fighting their power games?"
"Eh! I heard you guys came from that... what was it, Jarilo? I got word that Sky-Faring Division's Head Yukong also went there. Did you... ever hear anything about—uh, never mind that part."
Qingque pressed her palms together, looking so pitiful that Stelle was reminded of a little snowfield bear from Belobog.
As one of Jarilo's symbols, that little bear had been treated to enviable pampering ever since being brought back to Belobog.
For example, every time it waddled its stubby legs through the streets with a "chu-chu-chu," there'd always be big sisters bending down to feed it—and sneak in a cuddle.
"We did indeed come from Jarilo," Welt nodded slightly. "But as for what the General is doing, I don't think that's something we're in a position to know."
As expected, Qingque let out a sigh, unable to extract any useful information from them.
But her attention quickly shifted to the pattern on Stelle's clothing.
"Is this some kind of lucky mascot or something?" Qingque pointed at the symbol on Stelle's outfit, curious.
It was her first time seeing such a design. It looked quite fierce.
"No, that's my big brother!"
"Huh?"
Qingque blinked, staring blankly at this Astral Express member who was saying who knows what.
"Ahem, please excuse her. This child always has wild ideas," Welt cleared his throat and gestured behind his back for March 7th to stop Stelle's silly behavior.
From the limited information, he deduced that the General didn't want Fu Xuan of the Divination Commission to know about Godzilla too early. Understandable—today's meeting showed him that Master Fu had quite the impatient temperament.
Whatever Jing Yuan was planning, as someone in a high position, he likely had many considerations.
Qingque nodded thoughtfully and didn't ask further.
Well, it's not like Master Diviner said this was anything major. If it were something big, it wouldn't fall to a slacker like her anyway—so everything's fine.
With that thought, her heart suddenly felt at peace.
Just a second after Stelle signaled with her eyes that she wouldn't spill the beans, March 7th released her grip and curiously asked,
"By the way, Qingque, why were you over there anyway? Master Diviner clearly told you to meet us earlier."
"Ugh, it's all because of my overconfidence. There was only one road, so I figured if I just waited there I'd definitely run into you guys, and maybe squeeze in a round of Diviner's Dice. But... well, that didn't go so well."
...
Belobog.
Steel structures emitted steam.
Boom!
A loud bang echoed.
"I told you not to use that much force! Seele! Did you hear me?!"
Natasha, wearing a safety helmet, stood beneath the metal framework, shouting at the blue-haired girl standing on the Engine of Creation's shoulder.
Thud! Another heavy stone slab was forcibly embedded into the city wall.
Natasha was certain her voice could reach the top, so the situation was clear.
"Seele!"
Using the control authority borrowed from Himeko, Seele was enthusiastically operating the Engine of Creation for the construction work.
Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Natasha waving both arms from below, but she deliberately turned her eyes away and subtly adjusted her earplugs to fit more tightly.
"A very useful Engine of Creation—perfect for construction work."
IPC employee Volai looked up at the Engine's impressive speed and nodded with satisfaction.
"I only saw descriptions of this type of Engine of Creation in the IPC's archives."
As a IPC staff member, Volai had seen larger construction equipment, but spotting something of this scale on a backward planet like this was rare indeed.
On a nearby platform, Bronya silently nodded at the bustling construction scene in front of her.
There's nothing more wonderful than building a better infrastructure.
If there is, it must be that the building isn't beautiful enough yet.
"Bang!"
"Thump!"
"Whoosh whoosh whoosh!" The swinging tail made sharp whipping sounds through the air, and the pressure it generated sliced the tops off some shorter trees.
"So noisy." Godzilla was irritable now.
His excellent hearing allowed him to pick up the sound of construction hundreds of kilometers away. Of course, if it were just construction noise, it wouldn't be enough to disturb his sleep.
He was annoyed that he still hadn't found a power source.
Although Seele had found a small one, it wasn't nearly enough to meet his standards.
"Sigh, if only Silver Wolf were still around."
At this moment, Godzilla deeply missed the days when Silver Wolf was still there.
"Haha, it's finally done!"
An excited voice came from Serval's cabin. Godzilla slightly shifted his gaze and saw Serval running out in high spirits, her right arm covered by a mechanical arm.
"Oh, what's that?" Tingyun slid down Godzilla's tail and looked curiously at the device in Serval's hand.
"Hehe, this is a good thing." Serval chuckled, suddenly raising her arm and aiming at a flying creature approaching through the sky.
The next second, a thick beam of light shot from Serval's hand, cutting through half of the bird's body.
When she lowered her arm, only two legs and the bird's head fell, the head staring straight at Serval, looking rather creepy.
"Hehe, this is my new weapon. As long as I inject Path power into it, it can shoot a beam strong enough to pierce Gepard's defenses!"
"A remarkable invention. But where exactly did you get that conclusion about its power?" Tingyun's gaze followed Serval's movements, and upon hearing her words, she instinctively asked.
"…" Faced with this question, Serval looked up at the sky, feeling a bit embarrassed.
Could she admit that the unstable prototype had been tested on Gepard?
Compared to the cheerful mood on Godzilla's side, Yukong seemed much busier.
"General, are you sure you don't need me to return and take charge?" Yukong frowned slightly and asked.
