A Dangerous Dance

Elena's breathing was ragged as Luca held her against him, his grip like iron. She had landed a hit, but it only seemed to amuse him—like a beast enjoying the thrill of the hunt.

"Fiery as ever," he murmured against her ear, his voice a dark caress.

Elena gritted her teeth. "Let. Me. Go."

Luca chuckled, but before he could respond, a sharp knock echoed through the room.

Both of them froze.

Luca released her, his gaze flicking toward the door. A muscle in his jaw tightened before he stepped forward and opened it.

A man stood on the other side, dressed in a sleek gray suit, his expression unreadable. But the moment Elena saw him, her stomach dropped.

Adrian.

A name she hadn't thought about in years. A ghost from a past she'd buried.

His piercing blue eyes locked onto hers, something dangerous flickering in their depths. "Elena."

Luca's posture tensed. "What are you doing here?"

Adrian ignored him, stepping inside with the kind of authority that made it clear—he wasn't afraid of Luca.

Elena's heart pounded. Why was he here?

She hadn't seen Adrian since the night everything fell apart. Since the night she lost everything.

"You look well," he said, his voice calm, controlled. "Considering the circumstances."

Luca's gaze darkened. "I'll ask again. What the hell are you doing here?"

Adrian smirked, slipping his hands into his pockets. "Business." His eyes flickered toward Elena. "And maybe a little pleasure."

Luca's grip on the door tightened. "You don't belong here."

Adrian's smirk deepened. "Funny. I was just about to say the same thing."

Elena swallowed hard, her mind racing.

Two men. Both dangerous. Both with their own agendas.

And she was trapped between them.

Luca turned to her, his expression unreadable. "You know him."

It wasn't a question. It was an accusation.

Elena lifted her chin. "I did."

Adrian chuckled. "Oh, princesa, don't downplay it. We were much more than acquaintances."

Luca's jaw ticked, and Elena knew—this was about to turn ugly.

Adrian took a step closer, his voice softer now. "I came to offer you a choice."

Elena stiffened. "What choice?"

Adrian's gaze burned into hers. "Come with me."

Luca's body went rigid, his hand twitching at his side.

Silence hung between them, thick and suffocating.

Elena's heart pounded as she realized—

She was standing on the edge of a knife.

One wrong move… and someone would bleed.
