A Dance with the Devil

The air in the safe house was thick with tension. Sofia paced near the window, gripping her gun like it was the only thing keeping her grounded.

Luca sat on the edge of the worn-out couch, staring at his bruised knuckles. His mind was a storm, replaying every second of that encounter.

Mira was alive.

Mira wanted him dead.

And worst of all? He still wasn't sure if he could kill her.

Ghosts of the Past

Sofia: "You need to tell me everything."

Luca exhaled, rubbing his temple. "There's not much to tell."

Sofia: "Bullshit."

She crouched in front of him, her dark eyes searching his. "Who is she, Luca?"

He let out a humorless laugh. "She was my world."

Sofia's jaw tightened. "And now she's trying to end you."

Luca nodded, swallowing hard. "Yeah."

The silence between them was heavy.

Finally, Sofia stood. "Then we end her first."

The Hunt Begins

The next night, Luca and Sofia drove into the city, hunting for answers.

Raines was dead. His men had scattered. But someone had to know where Mira was.

Luca's first stop? A nightclub in the heart of the city, run by a fixer named Felix Moreau—a man who knew everything that happened in the underworld.

The moment they stepped inside, the music swallowed them whole.

Sofia leaned toward Luca. "You sure about this?"

Luca scanned the room, his gaze landing on a booth in the corner. "No. But it's all we've got."

Felix Moreau

Felix was a thin man with sharp features, nursing a glass of whiskey.

He barely looked up as Luca and Sofia slid into the booth. "Didn't think I'd see you again, Luca."

Luca leaned forward. "Where is she?"

Felix took a slow sip. "She who?"

Sofia pressed a knife to his thigh. "Don't play games."

Felix sighed. "You're looking for Mira, aren't you?"

Luca's jaw clenched. "You know where she is."

Felix smirked. "Everyone's looking for her. But only one person knows where she'll be next."

Luca narrowed his eyes. "Who?"

Felix slid a folded note across the table. "You."

Luca's stomach twisted as he unfolded the paper.

Inside was a single line, scrawled in familiar handwriting.

"Meet me where it all began."

Sofia read over his shoulder. "What does that mean?"

Luca's heart pounded. "Paris."

A Deadly Invitation

Mira wasn't running. She was waiting.

Calling him back to the place where it all started.

And Luca knew one thing for sure—

This time, only one of them would walk away.
