Sounds of footsteps.
- All right, let's go in and investigate.
More footsteps.
- Man, I remember when this place was working.
- Me too, I used to take my son here.
- Hey! No distractions, let's go and investigate, or do you want to go home at eleven at night again?
- That's right, let's stop fooling around then, that's all we have to do today.
Sounds of metal footsteps.
- What was that?
- I have no idea.
- Don't worry, it's probably vandals who broke in without us knowing and are now trying to scare us.
- Hey, guys.
- What is it, Rodrigo?
-What?
- Has that thing always been there?
- Where?
- Let me illuminate it.
Sounds of metal and heavy breathing.
- That thing!
- Oh my God! Let's get back to the cars now!
Loud sounds of metal footsteps.
Suddenly squeaks.
End of recording
Arriving at school, he thinks after saying goodbye to his older sister.
"How am I going to do this? Maybe I'll try to take control of my dreams, the problem is that I don't know how to do that, and also, those hideous creatures give me the creeps, what the hell!"
Ana soon sees him in the crowd heading for the living room, and goes over to him. He doesn't even notice her because he's busy thinking, so when she gets to him, she says cheerfully.
- Hey Lucas! How are you?
Lucas stops thinking when he hears her say it, and answers her politely.
- I'm fine, how are you?
She starts talking enthusiastically.
- I'm so excited for the morning, I hope tomorrow isn't too hot, because the last time I went there on a hot day, I ended up with red skin and a burning body.
Lucas tries to show her a bit of excitement, but he's too focused on how to break the connection he has with those creatures, but he tries to disguise it.
- I really hope so, this heat seems to sap my strength and I feel like doing nothing.
She says almost laughing.
- Yes, that really does happen, so I'm not the only one who feels how high the temperature is.
"They can't get involved in this at all, it's better to keep it a secret anyway."
Ana notices something strange about him and thinks as they make their way to the classroom.
"That's strange, he's acting suspiciously, but I'll tell Julia about it later to see if it's not just at school that he's acting strange."
Arriving in the classroom, they find Yuri who, on seeing him, asks.
- How are you? Feeling better?
He puts his backpack on the chair in his class and sits down, saying.
- I'm fine now, I just needed some rest.
Then he sees figures in the windows of the room, but as he's used to this, he ignores them, but he sees the creature in the window looking at him in a bizarre way, so he's briefly frightened.
Ana then asks.
- What's up, Lucas?
Lucas replies.
- It was nothing, it was just me remembering a bad dream.
Yuri then comments.
- Okay then? If you're not feeling well, just go to the principal.
- I'm fine, it was nothing.
Then Ana says.
- But we're here to help you with anything.
- Okay, it really wasn't anything, don't worry about it, I'm fine.
But think.
"Yeah, that was strange, out of nowhere he appears, are they close to me? That's complicated, I have to cut this connection as soon as possible."
So the signal rings, but instead of hearing the signal, Lucas hears a distorted voice.
- You can try to escape as much as you like, but you'll always be within our reach.
Lucas knew at that moment that he was hallucinating, so he kept his composure in front of his friends and didn't say anything, but he tried to calm down.
"Okay, that was unusual, but don't do anything, otherwise they'll get more suspicious than they already are, although ... Whose the hell is that voice?!"
Tel soon intervenes by saying.
- It's them, and there's no need for me to repeat that, and if you come up with another obvious question like that, I won't even answer you.
Then the bell rings for the start of class and he quickly thinks.
"But now I have to think later and concentrate on the lesson."
So the class went on, and when it was time to rest, Luscas went to take out his cell phone until he heard that voice again.
- I wouldn't do that if I were you.
Lucas, faced with this affront, thinks as he takes his cell phone out of his pocket.
"You're just voices in my head, you're probably still far away from me."
And so, a little preoccupied, he went to use his cell phone, but near the end of his rest time.
"Maybe this is a sign that they're getting closer to me, and they're trying to disturb me by doing this, but in any case, I should only alert my parents when I can't, because they're going to attack them straight away, ah, what the hell."
Then the bell rings and the teacher arrives, but someone is watching him from afar without knowing it, notices his worried expression and thinks.
"Interesting."
The time had passed and soon the final bell rang, at which point the teacher, who was teaching math, said.
- Well, see you next week, hey! Remember that after next week you'll have an exam, so study, see you.
The class quickly put their materials away, including Lucas, and when the teacher left the room, the class went out, passing through the corridors of the building to leave, in the middle of the crowd, also leaving, Lucas was thinking.
"Just when I remembered I didn't ask when and where this club is."
Almost as soon as he reached the gate, he met Julia, who was waiting for him.
- How was class, little brother?
- Nothing much, but do you know where the club is where Ana wants to spend the weekend?
She was confused.
- What? She's going to spend the weekend at the club?!
They start walking back to the house, talking. Lucas looks at her, rebutting what she's just said.
- She's already told you, hasn't she? It's pretty hard that she hasn't already told you, isn't it?
Confronted with this unusual question, she replies.
- No, she hasn't told me anything, I'm just finding out about it now.
He continues after hearing her out.
- No need to lie, it's because of the beach game, isn't it?
She remains silent for a moment, but thinks.
"What a thing, he's always guessing all this, too, right, after that day he got more and more suspicious, I wonder what she said? In fact, nowadays, if he's interested, he'll find out in a matter of seconds."
She replies.
- It was actually supposed to be a surprise, to try and cheer you up.
Lucas, seeing that he had apparently managed to get her to talk, continued.
- Cheer you up for what?
She replies.
- It's just that next week will be ten years since that day, and we didn't want you to get depressed again, but you're just starting to talk more to other people.
Lucas thinks about this as he remains silent.
"So they're trying to cheer you up, are they? I don't need their help, I'm perfectly fine, and after all, if they worry too much about me, they'll be able to find out about those beings without me having to talk."
After thinking about it, Lucas asks her another question.
- Where is that club anyway?
She smiles and says.
- Actually, I don't know either, hehe.
Lucas himself isn't surprised by this and just as she finishes answering, he starts thinking again.
"Why am I not surprised?"
Arriving home, Lucas suddenly hears a macabre laugh, as if someone were giggling in his ear.
"But what?"
He stops to look around, and finds nothing. Strangely surprised by this sudden action coming from her brother, Julia goes over to him.
- Hey, Lucas, what's up?
Lucas goes through the gate of the house saying.
- It's nothing, and you lock the padlock.
Suspicious at what she had just seen, she didn't say anything, but reflected.
"He's been acting strange lately, not that he isn't strange already, but he's acting stranger than usual."
She then went through the gate of the house and locked the padlock on the gate after closing it.
"I have to find out what's happening to him."
The sun had set and night reigned.
However, Lucas was awake to get the house organized before he went to bed, and walking down the hallway with a plastic watering can in his hands, he was thinking very sleepily.
"Well, just water the vegetable garden and I can finally go to bed."
He was alone at the moment, as his sister and parents were in their rooms asleep, but there was a brief feeling that someone was watching him, which made him suspicious.
"There's something, this feeling is strange, it feels like someone is following me, but I've looked behind me several times and there's no one, maybe I'm hallucinating from sleep."
Then he hears something made of glass breaking as it falls to the ground, which immediately catches his attention.
"Damn, something broke in the little thing, but now it's very late, and I'm dying of sleep, I'll check later."
Heading to the back to water the vegetable garden, he hears the sound of a strong wind.
"And here we go, another storm at dawn, in fact the newspaper had reported that this storm was coming, well, it came late because the weather forecast had said it would be in the afternoon, really sometimes you can't believe these things."
When he arrived, he saw the backyard was not very big, it was all walled off and had an electric fence, there was only the vegetable garden, which took up almost a quarter of the site, and a large papaya tree.
But he pays attention to the horizon, where the storm is coming, full of flashes, as if they were a blinker, and he thinks to himself as he sees it coming.
"Well, I won't have to water this garden."
So Lucas goes over to a large hand-dug tree and pours the water he would have used just there and goes back inside.
"Better for me, less work to do and I can go to bed earlier."
As he entered the house again, he felt a slight sensation of being chased by someone as he went to close the back door.
But he couldn't stop to think about this strange sensation, because the moment he looked out into the corridor, the same being was running frantically after him.
"My God!"
He was so startled that he simply froze, and it was then that he realized it was just a hallucination, because when he reached it, it disappeared in the blink of an eye.
"Was it a hallucination?"
Still distressed by what he had seen, he went to put the watering can away for the night, and when he finally went to sleep, with the window and door closed and the lights off, he left to spend the night on the mental plane.
"I'm here again? What's wrong with this one? Tel! Where are you?"
Soon he appeared in front of him out of the darkness, saying.
- What? Did you remember how to arrest me again?
Lucas, confronted with Tel's words, quickly replies, thinking.
"Are you still at it? Well, no, I just came to ask a question."
He's immediately interested in the question he could ask.
- Oh, that's interesting, go on.
Lucas then asks the question.
"Did you find out how to cut this connection?"
He answers frankly.
- No, but I have my guesses, maybe you remember that day? Or ...
Seeing his reaction, Lucas became suspicious and interrupted him with another question.
"Or what?"
Surprised, Tel finds himself confronted by Lucas and not wanting to get into a fight with him, he relents.
- Or you should go to that place again that day to sort it out.
His brain soon starts releasing cortisol into his bloodstream, just for having heard this possibility of a resolution and he thinks, holding back his fear.
"Well, maybe that's not the solution, I don't want to step foot in that place again."
- Yes, but if there's no other option, you'll have to deal with them yourself.
So Tel ends by saying as he walks back into the darkness.
- If that's all you have to ask me, then I'm going to go, enjoy your dream.
Then he sees Tel walking away.
"Then if that's the only option, I'll have no choice but to face my fears."
So he went to dream, but he didn't dream, because he had a nightmare.
Lucas was walking down a corridor in an abandoned place, with a flashlight so he could see what was there in this near-darkness, but what he saw was just a place left to rot into oblivion, but apparently it was a hospital.
"Am I asleep? Because I don't remember coming here and it seems so real."
The corridor seemed to have no end, but after a long walk, he found a wooden door between open.
"I wonder what's in here?"
As he enters, everything is completely dark and silent.
But he hears a child's voice, as if whispering in his ear.
- Wake up.
In the blink of an eye, he wakes up and, confused, gets out of bed, wondering as he goes to the window to open it.
"What was that place and that voice?"
The rays of the morning sun hit his face.
"At least it's daylight."
After making the bed, he leaves the room wondering.
"What was that place? It sounds a bit familiar."
