Chapter 5

I was utterly infuriated and amused at the same time. My mother was still lying there, and here she was saying such things.

As I was about to kick her out of the hospital room, she suddenly stood up and declared with conviction, "Fine, let's divorce then! You ungrateful bastard, don't come crawling back to me later!"

I found her words laughable. All I wanted now was to divorce her as soon as possible; how could I ever think of begging her to come back?

A month later, my mother fully recovered, and I took her home from the hospital.

By chance, we ran into Seraphina, who was at the hospital on business.

Ever since my mother found out that Genevieve was the lead surgeon, she had been urging me to visit and express our gratitude. Now that we happened to see her, my mother firmly grabbed hold of her, refusing to let go.
