My mom was seriously ill and urgently needed money for surgery, but honey used that money to buy scalped tickets at a high price to see her idol's concert.
I hurriedly called her, but she impatiently replied:
"You can just earn more money! Mom's illness can wait a bit longer, but this is the final concert - if I miss it, I'll never get to see it!"
Hearing those words, my heart instantly turned ice cold.
Fortunately, I eventually raised enough for the surgery fees.
She finally came back too.
But all that greeted her was a divorce agreement.

I hadn't even had the chance to ask her about the leftover money from buying the tickets when the line went dead.
When I tried calling back, her phone was already switched off.
The nurse began to urge me, "Olivia's family member, have you paid the fee yet? Hospital policy requires payment before we can proceed with the surgery."
My mom's surgery had already been postponed multiple times. I had finally scraped together enough money, but now it was gone. Money could be gathered again, but my mom's condition couldn't wait any longer.
I quickly pleaded, "Nurse, please, can you make an exception? I promise I'll get the money together as soon as possible. Can't you start my mom's surgery first?"
The nurse emphasized again, "No, it's hospital policy. We need payment before we can perform the surgery."
I was about to get on my knees and beg the nurse when suddenly a voice came from beside her, "Kellan?"
The nurse quickly bowed her head and said, "Doctor Winters."
I looked up at the sound of the voice, and it was Seraphina, my high school deskmate.
Back when we were choosing colleges, she had opted for a medical major. I never expected to run into her here by such coincidence.
Seraphina walked over and said, "I saw your aunt's name on the patient list. I thought I'd try my luck and see if it was really you. What a coincidence, it really is you."She sensed my anxiety and patted my shoulder, saying, "Don't worry, I'll take care of your aunt."
Turning to the nurse, she instructed, "Prepare for surgery immediately."
When the nurse tried to argue, she cut her off, saying, "Deduct the expenses from my personal account."
It wasn't until my mom was wheeled into the operating room that I realized what had just happened.
I heard from the nurse that the lead surgeon for this operation was brought in from another hospital. To my surprise, it was Seraphina.
I remembered mocking her when she chose to study medicine, joking that the next time we'd meet, she'd be balding. But not only was that not the case, she was even more beautiful than in high school.
Thinking about this, I felt a bit ashamed. This time, I was truly grateful for her help.
Outside the operating room, I waited anxiously.
Suddenly, my phone buzzed with a notification.
It was news from the concert venue. A girl wearing a wedding dress at the concert had gone viral.
I recognized her instantly – it was my darling, Melody.
The concert's big screen captured her exquisite makeup and her face, slightly stiff from excitement and nervousness.
The idol asked her, "Are you still single?"
She nodded vigorously and grabbed the microphone, saying, "The reason I came to your concert in a wedding dress today is because I wanted to feel like I've married you, even if just for a moment!"The crowd let out a collective sigh of dismay.
I laughed bitterly to myself and turned off my phone.
How ridiculous. My mom was still in the operating room, while my darling was wearing a wedding dress at her idol's concert, saying she wanted to marry someone else.
We'd been married for five years. I'd always told myself that even if she was thinking about and yearning for other men, I was still her husband. She must love me too.
So in the past, when she spent all our savings on following her favorite stars, I never once spoke up to object.
But now, I couldn't fool myself anymore.
Three hours later, Seraphina walked out of the operating room.
My anxious heart finally relaxed when I saw the faint smile in her eyes.
