The Quarrel

As usual, Ji En and Ouyang Xue were the last to leave the teaching building. They were still being affectionate with each other, and Ji Aier was still following them like air. She knew that Ji En didn't know about the incident when Ouyang Xue called her out before, and she didn't think it was necessary to tell Ji En anything.

Ji Aier already had something new to do, which was reading books.

Suddenly, Ji Aier heard the sound of a quarrel coming from not far away between Ouyang Xue and Ji En. She raised her head and looked at them.

"What's so good about her? She doesn't have a good figure, doesn't have a pretty face, and has no background at all. In what way can she compare with me, Ouyang Xue?" Ouyang Xue pointed at Ji Aier and shouted at Ji En, not caring about Ji Aier's feelings at all. Maybe she didn't have any dignity in Ouyang Xue's eyes.

And Ji Aier didn't feel anything special when hearing these words because what Ouyang Xue said was true. Compared with Ouyang Xue's stunning beauty, her curvy figure like a devil, and the background of being the only daughter of a financier, Ji Aier really didn't count for much. She was as ordinary as a grain of sand on the beach.

"I won't allow you to talk about her like that." Ji Aier saw Ji En losing his temper at Ouyang Xue for the first time. Was he defending his "toy"?

"I will talk about her like this. She's nothing. I even think it's beneath my dignity to have her as my maid." Ouyang Xue didn't plan to let Ji Aier go, and the words she said became more and more offensive.

"Slap——" Ji Aier heard a clear and piercing sound ringing in her ears. She looked at Ji En in a daze as he slapped Ouyang Xue. Ji En was actually so violent, which was something Ji Aier didn't expect.

"Ji En, don't do this." Ji Aier quickly ran over and pulled Ji En away. He really didn't need to hit Ouyang Xue just because of a few words she said. This might be the greatest humiliation Ouyang Xue had ever experienced since she was a child.

"Who asked you to be so hypocritical!" Ouyang Xue suddenly rushed over, pushed Ji Aier to the ground, and ran away crying. When Ji Aier sat on the ground and felt the intense pain, she suddenly thought that seeing the humiliated look in Ouyang Xue's eyes just now was a kind of comfort. Maybe she was also a person without much love and was rather cold, Ji Aier thought.

Ji Aier looked up at Ji En, wondering if he would run after Ouyang Xue. But he didn't. He just picked up his schoolbag and walked towards the school gate.

Ji En was even colder than she had imagined. She felt this at that moment.

The next day, Ouyang Xue's seat was empty, and it was still empty the third day. Ouyang Xue had indeed suffered a great deal of grievance. Ji Aier began to feel sorry for her. She wasn't that bad, just a bit too spoiled.

Ji En didn't seem to care at all. He either skipped classes or went home on time after school as usual. Ji Aier began to have a new "friend," which was the cactus on the balcony. There was also a prickly ball grafted on it, and the combination of red and dark green was very beautiful. In fact, the vitality of the cactus wasn't as strong as people thought. In fact, it was very afraid of the cold. Just like her, it could live well in the dry and stuffy summer, but it couldn't withstand the severe cold of winter.
