The Uninvited Guest

Finally, Ji En closed his document and stood up. His black shirt complemented his wheat-colored skin perfectly. Ji Aier thought of what had happened in the morning, and a blush appeared on her face.

"Can I go now?" Ji Aier asked Ji En, who had stood up.

"No," Ji En simply said this word and then walked into the restroom.

Ji Aier lowered her head in disappointment.

"From now on, you have to wait until I finish eating before you can leave," Ji En came out and said this to Ji Aier.

Ji Aier almost fainted. Was he serious? Did he expect her to stand by his side, being as submissive as a Japanese wife, waiting for him to finish eating, and then even cleaning up after him before backing out of his office?

But looking at Ji En's expression, it seemed that was exactly what he was thinking, as if all this was very normal and natural, and he just needed her to do it.

I can't make him angry today, no matter what, Ji Aier thought to herself.

"Come here!" Ji En pulled Ji Aier to sit beside him, pointed at the half-eaten lunch box, and said, "The food you cooked today tastes terrible!"

"Terrible?" Ji Aier looked at the delicately prepared lunch box in disbelief. Then she picked up a spoon, scooped up a bit of the dish, and put it in her mouth. It wasn't bad! The taste was just right. Could it be that Ji En's taste had changed after spending a few years in the United States?

"I'm not eating anymore," Ji En said. Then he pushed the remaining lunch box in front of Ji Aier. "The rest is all yours!"

"You can't be serious!" Ji Aier almost jumped up. How could she possibly finish it? Besides, she wasn't hungry at all!

"The Ji Aier I used to know wasn't this rude," Ji En said and then stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window.

The Ji En I used to know isn't like you are now either, Ji Aier muttered to herself. Then she scooped up the rice absent-mindedly.

"En!..." Xiao Yu, Ji En's special assistant, came in without even knocking on the door.

"Oh, there's a beautiful woman here," Xiao Yu didn't expect that the first time he burst in without knocking, he would meet such a pure and beautiful girl with a simple hairstyle, and she was even eating lunch in Ji En's office.

"Hello," Ji Aier quickly swallowed the food in her mouth and greeted Xiao Yu.

"Hello! I'm Xiao Yu, Ji En's special assistant. Who are you?" Xiao Yu was very interested in the girl in front of him.

"My name is Ji Aier."

"You also have the surname Ji? What a coincidence!" Xiao Yu said. "Could you be the girl that Ji En has been searching high and low for?"

"Xiao Yu, do you talk too much?" Ji En's very unhappy voice interrupted.

Xiao Yu received the murderous look from Ji En and tactfully touched his nose, saying, "I have an important matter to report to you."

"Then you two talk. I'll go back now," Ji Aier quickly tidied up the lunch box, walked out of Ji En's office, and closed the door behind them.

She still politely said thank you when passing by Su Yuncao's desk. Ji Aier thought that Ji En's secretary had a very good temperament. She should be a highly educated person with profound knowledge, Ji Aier thought.
