Once, I read a book. The last chapter of the book told a love story.
The male and female protagonists made an appointment to meet at the Trevi Fountain in Italy, which would be either the starting point or the ending point of their love. If they met at the Trevi Fountain at the appointed time, it would mark the beginning of their love. If one of them failed to show up, the Trevi Fountain would be the end of their relationship.
The female protagonist waited at the appointed place all night, but the male protagonist didn't appear. She was almost frozen. Finally, she sent the male protagonist one last email, telling him that the Trevi Fountain was the end of their relationship and that he should never look for her again.
The male protagonist kept urging the driver to speed up in order to reach the Trevi Fountain to meet the female protagonist. His car had an accident less than a hundred meters away from the Trevi Fountain. The male protagonist was thrown out of the car, and that place became the end of his life.
We are always so willful as to think that when someone makes a huge mistake, it is unforgivable. But one day, when we find that the other person has left us forever, we realize that the mistakes the other person made before are not actually unforgivable. Sometimes, we have to pay the price of death to forgive someone for a mistake.

"The reason of being in love is indeed very strong, so strong that it's cruel. The reason why that wife chose to leave so helplessly was that her husband fell in love with another woman, and she had to give up. She knew that there was no point in fighting for it, so she had no choice but to let go. So I don't want to make any choices. I'm so tired. If it comes to the point where I have to make a choice, then I can only say that sentence to Minze: Honey, I'm leaving!" She couldn't hold onto Ji Minze's arm, burst into tears, and beg him not to leave her or abandon her. She just couldn't do it! So she selfishly left this choice for Ji Minze to deal with.
"Don't leave Brother Minze again. He won't be able to stand it," Cheng Yuxuan said with a heartache. He held back from saying to Yiren that she should be with him. Because he knew so clearly that Yiren loved Ji Minze. She was just too proud, and Ji Minze couldn't let go of Yiren either. They should be together because they had suffered so much and deserved a day when all the hardships would end and happiness would come.
"I won't leave him on my own initiative, but I won't force him to be with me either," Yiren said, her tone revealing courage and stubbornness. "I'm still me, aren't I? Whether I've lost my memory or not."
"Then forgive him. He couldn't control all of this," Cheng Yuxuan said, looking at the bustling crowd outside the window.
"I don't think I need to forgive him for anything. He didn't do anything wrong. It's me who's at fault," Yiren said, waving to the waiter to refill her cup of bitter coffee.
"You have a bad stomach. Don't drink too much bitter coffee," Cheng Yuxuan advised.
"Don't worry. God won't let someone who's not afraid of death die too early because sometimes he likes to play pranks," Yiren said with a laugh. Even the faint trace of sadness from before disappeared. She instantly became calm, as if nothing had happened.
She drank the coffee in big gulps, not at all like someone savoring coffee. She was there to enjoy the taste that was bitter to the heart.
"I finally know why I forgot Ji Minze," Yiren said after taking a sip of coffee.
"Why?" Cheng Yuxuan asked quietly.
"Because I love him, I couldn't accept the fact that he had another woman," Yiren said calmly, a calmness that seemed heartless. "I was afraid that he would have to choose between two things he couldn't have at the same time! And I would be one of those things."
"You were afraid of being chosen, so before the result came out, you automatically chose to give up," Cheng Yuxuan said. She was always used to running away!
"Maybe. No matter what the result is, the person who isn't chosen will possess him in the form of memories. And I'm not great enough to share. If I love him, I want to have all of him. If I can't have all of him, then I'd rather choose to let go," Yiren said stubbornly. She hadn't changed at all, whether it was before or now, even though she had forgotten some things.
"Then I think you should rush in front of my cousin and bravely announce to her: Ji Minze is yours, and no one else can covet him!" Cheng Yuxuan told a bad joke.
"I won't do that. That's not declaring that I'm the winner but admitting that I've lost! Because I'm afraid," Yiren glanced at Cheng Yuxuan disdainfully and said.
"The Yiren I know is finally back!" Cheng Yuxuan showed the first smile since seeing Yiren. The Yiren who never admitted defeat and dared to rush up and fight the bad guys even though she was physically weak was back.
"Thank you, Yuxuan," Yiren said seriously. Cheng Yuxuan had given her a lot of strength and support. His footprints were all over her growth.
"We're good friends!" Cheng Yuxuan said with a smile.
Yiren smiled. They were indeed very good friends, so good that they couldn't develop their relationship further.
"I'm going back now," Yiren said after taking the last bite of the cake.
"I'll take you back," Cheng Yuxuan stood up.
"No, I want to walk back by myself," Yiren said, with a faint smile on her face.
They walked out of the coffee shop. Yiren waved goodbye to Cheng Yuxuan. She walked on the street as the streetlights were just coming on. Yiren's figure was stretched very long by the streetlights. Her phone was ringing, but she didn't answer it. She just listened to the ringtone, which was the song "The Bird and the Winter."
A bird in winter was almost frozen, but it still didn't forget to fly. How much courage and strength that required!
She walked to the gate of the Ji Family Garden. The maid was surprised and exclaimed when she saw her.
"The Young Mistress is back!"
This startled Yiren. She turned her head and saw Ji Minze standing at the door, looking at her with a hint of surprise in his eyes!

No matter how big a mistake a person makes, it can be forgiven, as long as the person you need to forgive still loves you.
There is no absolute black and white in this world. There is also an intermediate color range, which is - - gray!
A person is not perfect. It's only because the other person loves you that you become perfect.
Maybe tomorrow, maybe the day after tomorrow, let's see how it ends!
Crying silently and sadly - - all of this is because of love!
