Chapter 3 of the Epilogue: Grasping at the Straw of Salvation

When we got home,

my mom happened to come downstairs.

"Today, we're going to have Cantonese cuisine, which is Xiaofu's favorite," my mom said to me with a smile.

"Really?" I rushed into the dining room excitedly, but there was nothing there!

I walked out disappointedly.

"Mom is lying again," I said.

"How could mom lie to our little treasure? We'll go out and eat together tonight," my mom walked over and patted my face gently. She was even bending down a bit when she did this, which made me feel a bit down.

"Mom, why are you, dad, and brother all so tall, but I'm so short?" This is the eternal pain in my heart!

"Our little Xiaofu is not short at all. You're just petite. That's why you're the most precious and lovely one in the family," my dad comforted me.

"It must be that my brother stole my nutrients," I said seriously, looking up.

Now I can only comfort myself like this: Concentration is essence!

My dad and mom both laughed and didn't say anything.

When we got to the Cantonese restaurant, my dad ordered a lot of my favorite dishes for me!

Halfway through the meal, I thought of my brother who was far away in France and felt a bit sad.

"I wish my brother were in the country now," I said.

"When did our little Xiaofu become like Sister Lin?" my dad laughed.

"Not at all," I said, raising my head bravely and smiling!

I just missed my brother a little bit!

When we were almost done with dinner, I received a call from Wei Qi.

"Hello," I answered rudely.

"Fufu," Wei Qi said with a laugh on the other end of the phone.

His disgusting nickname made me frown.

"Don't call me that," I said.

"Okay then, honey. I'm back in the country, and I want to see you," Wei Qi said.

"Okay. I want you to show up in front of me in ten minutes, at the entrance of Jinya Cantonese Restaurant," I said.

After hanging up the phone, I said to my dad and mom,

"That was Wei Qi on the phone. He's back in the country, and I'm going to meet him later. I won't go home with you, dad and mom."

"Don't come home too late," my dad said.

"Yes, sir," I gave a standard salute gesture, then walked over and kissed my dad and mom on their cheeks, waved my hand, went downstairs, and walked out of the restaurant.

I stood at the entrance, waiting for Wei Qi to appear. Soon, a silver-gray sports car pulled up in front of me. The person in the driver's seat was Wei Qi. I could hardly recognize him. He had changed so much.

"My god, does the influence of Austrian music really have such a strong effect? You've completely changed," I said in surprise. The Wei Qi in front of me was no longer the crying little boy from the past. He had become a fair-skinned young man exuding an elegant aura.

"So do you like me a bit more now?" Wei Qi turned his head and asked with a smile.

"Yes, I like you so much that I want to bite you," I laughed. Then I remembered that I used to like kissing Wei Qi and had very seriously told him that it was like stamping my mark, meaning he would be my servant for life!

Wei Qi smiled brightly, and his smile made me feel like I was in a warm spring breeze.

"We haven't seen each other for about five years, right?" I said, feeling that time had passed so quickly.

The year Wei Qi went to Austria, we cried our eyes out and didn't want to let go of each other. At that time, holding hands seemed like it would last forever.
