Student Council Meeting Room - 9:15 PM :
Sohara returned to the office quietly, placing the Class of 2005 file on the table in front of him. He didn't look nervous, but his mind couldn't stop analyzing what he saw.
"A file in my name? In the old archives?"
He glanced at Yukiha sitting in front of him, busy reviewing the guest list. Her features were composed as usual, but shades of fatigue were visible under her eyes.
He decided not to say anything... yet.
"Have you finished checking the guest arrangements?" She asked without raising her eyes.
"Yes, and everything is ready."
She finally raised an eyebrow and looked at him, as if weighing his sincerity. "Unusually fast for you."
"I got a little excited today."
"Oh? Something exciting happened?"
He smiled lightly as he rested his head on his hand. "Maybe."
She didn't complete the questions, and he didn't need an explanation.
But he noticed that she stared at the file in front of him for a brief moment before returning to her work.
Teacher Misaki Shidou's office - 10:00 PM :
"I entered the archives."
Misaki didn't lift her head from the papers she was reviewing. "and you pulled out the Class of 2005 file."
"You were expecting that, weren't you?"
She closed her notebook quietly, finally lifting her eyes to his. "If you hadn't, I would have suspected it was really you."
He laughed lightly, but his eyes remained cold. "I found something else there."
Her gaze became sharper. "And what are you going to do about it?"
He rested his back on the chair. "Nothing... yet."
There was silence between them for a moment before Misaki said: "The ceremony is tomorrow, and I want you to focus only on that."
"Of course, I won't do anything rash."
"Good."
He stood up to leave, but stopped at the door. "By the way..."
"What?"
He looked at her with a half-smile, but it wasn't exactly friendly. "When you mentioned the new manager, the other night... your voice changed."
She didn't answer.
"See you at the tomorrow."
The door closed behind him, leaving the teacher sitting alone, her eyes holding something that wasn't easy to explain.
Schoolyard - Midnight :
Sohara stood in the empty courtyard, looking at the large hall where the ceremony would be held tomorrow.
Tomorrow, the school would be crowded, lights would fill the place, chatter, applause, formal speeches.
But now... the courtyard was empty, and silence hung over the place like a heavy curtain.
He took the file out of his bag and took one last look at it.
"Class of 2005."
Tomorrow, the ceremony would be the official beginning of the end of one thing...
and the beginning of something else entirely.
