chapter 3 Awakening of hunger

Darkness. Silence. A voice echoes from the void.

Unknown Voice: "You are not supposed to be here."

Mr. Cake: "Who... Who are you?"

Unknown Voice: "The question is, who are you?"

A pause. A faint memory flickers—a name, a face, a betrayal. Rage stirs deep inside.

Unknown Voice: "Do you seek peace?"

Mr. Cake: "...No."

Unknown Voice: "Then awaken."

Chapter 3 awakening of hunger

---

A deep silence filled the air.

Mr. Cake's eyes snapped open. His body felt heavy yet weightless, as if he existed and didn't exist at the same time. He could feel the ground beneath him, yet his hands looked strange, unfamiliar. They were no longer the soft, fragile hands of a human—or even the cake-like form he last remembered.

"What… am I?" he muttered, staring at himself.

The last thing he remembered was the horror of being eaten alive. The people who once surrounded him, the cruel laughter, the cold, merciless voice that ordered his execution—Xratham. Just the thought of that name made his head throb with an unbearable rage.

Before he could process anything further, a voice echoed in his head.

"You have awakened."

Mr. Cake's heart pounded. He looked around, but there was no one in sight. The voice wasn't coming from the trees or the shadows—it was inside his own mind.

"Who are you?" he demanded.

Before he could get an answer, a figure stepped forward from the mist.

(A slow wind blows)

A tall, hooded being with dark, flowing robes emerged from the trees. His presence carried an unnatural stillness, as if even the wind dared not touch him. His face remained hidden under the shadows of his hood, but his glowing blue eyes pierced through the darkness.

"You are confused, but I am here to guide you."

Mr. Cake narrowed his eyes. "Guide me? To what?"

The figure raised a hand. "To the truth."

--

The guide's voice was calm yet powerful, each word sinking deep into Mr. Cake's mind.

"You are no longer human, nor cake. You are a yokai."

"You became this because you refused to accept death."

"Your soul desired revenge more than peace. That is what created you."

Mr. Cake clenched his fists. He hadn't chosen this. Had he?

As if reading his thoughts, the guide spoke again. "Your body may have surrendered, but your soul never did."

That's when he truly understood. It wasn't just him that wanted revenge. His very soul cried out for it. It was as if his entire being was created for one purpose—vengeance.

"And what now?" Mr. Cake asked, his voice steady but filled with fire.

The guide stepped aside, revealing a glowing pathway in the forest.

"Now, you come with me. To the Yokai Palace."

---

Then Mr cake go with the guide of the yokai

As they walked through the mysterious path, Mr. Cake noticed the air felt different. Time itself seemed to shift. The trees bent in unnatural ways, the sky flickered between light and dark, and whispers echoed from unseen mouths.

The guide finally spoke. "We are heading to the Yokai Palace."

Mr. Cake glanced at him. "What is that place?"

The guide's glowing blue eyes seemed to pierce through him. "It is where the yokai gather. Where you will learn what you are truly capable of."

He paused for a moment before adding, "And it is ruled by a god."

Mr. Cake's steps slowed. "A god?"

The guide nodded. "His name is Vrat."

A cold breeze swept through the trees as the name echoed in the air.
