Now Layla lay on top of me with our faces just a breath close, looking into my eyes with anticipation.
"So," she said, voice calm, almost cheerful. "How was it?"
Noah's heart skipped a beat. "H-How was what?"
She leaned down, just a breath away from his face. "Being bathed. By me. While naked."
Layla's hand was already on my cheek, sending a shiver down my spine.
"You were unconscious," she said, running the sponge slowly along his bare arm. "So I made sure you were completely clean. Even here—" she tapped his chest, "and here—" her finger trailed lower, "and... here."
Noah's face burned.
"But that's—!?"
"Of course," she said with an innocent blink. "Don't worry, I took my time. It was thorough. You moaned a little too."
"I what—?!"
Layla giggled. "It made me happy. You were so defenseless. So soft. So warm. I almost wanted to mark you."
He stiffened. "Mark me...?"
"Don't worry," she said, pulling something from her pocket. "I settled for this."
She pressed her palm against his chest. There was a faint glow—an icy burn that faded into warmth.
[DING!]
(You've been Soul-Imprinted by Layla Silvermoon.)
(This imprint cannot be removed unless she dies. Good luck.)
"...System.?"
[It was nice meeting you, Host.]
Layla smiled, laying beside him on the bed now, wrapping her arms around his chest. "Now no one can claim you without my permission. Isn't that romantic?"
He was too stunned to move. Her fingers gently brushed across his abs, then wandered even lower—
"Layla—!"
"I'm just checking if I missed a spot," she whispered in his ear. "This is purely hygienic."
Her hand slid, trailing across his hip. He gasped, eyes wide, muscles frozen. The only thing louder than the blood pounding in his ears was the System warning flashing like a nuclear alert in his vision.
[WARNING: VITAL SIGNS SPIKING. STAY STILL OR SUFFER CARDIAC EMBARRASSMENT.]
Layla smiled in satisfaction as she saw his reaction and leaned in closer. "I'll take care of you, Noah. Always."
His voice was a whisper. "I'm so dead."
She kissed his cheek. "Only if you cheat."
"Ah, I forgot to clean your lips," she remembered. "Guess I should do it right now."
Now her lips parted and her face was getting closer every second to kiss.
"Layla, I think I can-..." she didn't let me finish. Her lips locked on with mine, with her hands holding my face in place, using her lips and tongue to clean my lips thoroughly—more than my body.
"Ah, her lips are soft. If she didn't kiss me before, then it's definitely her first."
Seeing her devotion even for cleaning my lips, I put my hands on her back gently. As if she was happy with my action, she got even more intense. I was getting out of breath now, and my body was reacting. Even my soul imprint was glowing red heavily. "I guess it's too much even for him."
After what felt like an eternity, she let go of my lips.
Haa ... Haaa. ...Haaa....
We both were breathing heavily.
Layla, who felt something poking her from the back, smirked. "Looks like someone is getting a little naughty, hmm?"
I was beyond embarrassed. At first, I fainted due to the bath and now this...
"It's your fault for making it like this. It's not something I can control," I said with a flushed face.
"Then it's fine if I take responsibility, right?" Layla said mischievously.
"Yes! —Wait, no, that's not what I mean," I tried to refuse, only to fail.
She kissed my forehead and said, "It's fine, Noah. No need to be shy."
Then her hand moved dangerously towards my lower region, but before she could reach it—
Click.
The door opened.
Standing in the doorway were Scarlett, Lyra, Olivia, Charlotte—and my parents.
The silence was deafening.
Scarlett's eye twitched. Her gaze moved from Layla's barely clothed form to my glowing Soul Imprint, then to our flushed, disheveled appearances.
"...Noah," she said sweetly, too sweetly. "Care to explain?"
Lyra tilted her head, expression unreadable. "So this is what you call 'recuperating,' huh?"
Olivia covered her mouth, cheeks bright red. "W-We were worried you weren't waking up, but it seems... Layla took good care of you."
Charlotte's void-like eyes widened for a moment, then narrowed. "You were unconscious and she... bathed you?"
Mom dropped the basket she was holding. "MY BABY BOY?!"
Dad coughed into his hand, looking away. "I-I saw nothing. Continue... I mean, I was never here."
Scarlett stormed forward, yanking the blanket and throwing it over Layla. "WHAT THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING TO NOAH?!"
Layla just smiled innocently. "Caring for him. Thoroughly. Inside and out."
"I'm fine now! Really!" I shouted, waving my arms.
Layla clung to my arm tighter. "He still needs... supervision."
Mom, eyes still wide in horror, turned to Dad. "We should have never let him enroll here."
Dad nodded solemnly. "It was too early."
I may have escaped the Shadow Prince.
But I walked into the embrace of something far more terrifying.
Love.
I froze.
What the hell—?
"Hmm… Noah…" she murmured , rubbing her cheek against me like a cat.
"NOAH !"
Scarlett's voice echoed like a thunderclap
Scarlett. Olivia. Charlotte. Lyra. My mother. My father
Scarlett was red-faced, trembling with a mix of rage and embarrassment.
Olivia looked like she'd just been slapped by divine judgment itself.
Charlotte's elegant expression was shattered by visible disbelief.
Lyra had her arms crossed, one eyebrow raised. Unimpressed.
My mom covered her mouth, clearly horrified.
And my dad… was silently sipping tea from the corner. His gaze met mine. He didn't say anything. Just… smirked.
Then sipped again.
"WHAT… THE… HELL… IS THIS?!" Scarlett shrieked, grabbing the nearest pillow like it was a holy weapon.
"GET OFF HIM!" Olivia shouted, her calm demeanor finally cracking. "You're barely wearing anything!"
"Correction," Layla said with a stretch, "he's barely wearing anything too."
Scarlett hurled the pillow.
Charlotte, ever the composed one, stepped forward with eerie calm. "Layla. Off. Now."
Layla pouted. "But I was taking care of him all this time—he was cold, and alone, and vulnerable—"
"You have ten seconds to get dressed before I drag you out by the hair," Scarlett said, murder in her eyes.
"I'd like to see you try—"
Scarlett lunged.
Layla screamed, rolling off me and tumbling to the floor.
"Scarlett!" I gasped, trying to sit up.
Olivia pressed me back down. "You don't get to say anything right now."
"But I didn't do anything!"
"You were naked!" Charlotte hissed.
"I was unconscious!"
"That didn't stop her," Olivia muttered darkly.
Layla stood up, brushing her hair. "You're all just jealous."
"No. We're normal," Scarlett snarled. "You're delusional."
Olivia stepped in front of Layla. "What part of he just recovered from a life-threatening injury made you think dry-humping him all night was okay?"
My mom finally spoke up, her face pale. "Noah, sweetie… w-were you two…?"
"NO!" I shouted, horrified. "Nothing happened! I swear!"
Layla smiled. "That's what you think."
"LAYLA!" everyone roared.
My dad chuckled softly, still sipping tea. "He's growing up fast."
"Richard !!" my mom shouted at him.
"What?" he shrugged. "She's a beauty. She didn't even flinch with all of them yelling. That's my son."
I wanted to die.
Right there.
Charlotte sat on the edge of the bed, holding my shirt and glaring daggers. "You will explain, now."
"I… I don't know how she got there!" I stammered. "I fell asleep after you all left—I swear—then I woke up and—"
"—and found yourself under her," Olivia muttered.
"Yep. Classic Noah," Scarlett added.
"I DID NOTHING!"
Layla hummed, tossing on a robe. "Actually, you cuddled me halfway through the night."
"THAT'S NOT HELPING!"
Charlotte grabbed my wrist. "From now on, you sleep in a locked room. Alone. With magic seals. And possibly guards."
"She's right," Olivia agreed, arms folded. "You need boundaries."
"I'll station a shadow clone if needed," Scarlett muttered.
I looked to Lyra for help.
She blinked at me, then said flatly, "You dug your grave. Lie in it."
"Et tu, Lyra…?"
Then my mom cleared her throat. "Girls, let's… not kill him. He's still recovering. Though… Layla, we will have a very long talk after this."
"Of course, mother-in-law~," Layla chirped.
"You're not my daughter-in-law!"
Charlotte let out a deep sigh and finally helped me back under the covers. "Noah… you scared us."
Scarlett nodded, her eyes softer now. "Don't ever do something that reckless again."
Olivia placed a warm hand on my shoulder. "If you die, we'll bring you back and kill you again."
"Noted…" I mumbled.
They began gathering their things to leave.
Charlotte stood and walked past me, her fingers brushing against mine briefly. She didn't say anything else.
Scarlett flicked my forehead. "Idiot."
Olivia smiled softly. "Good night, Noah."
As they started to leave one by one, Layla suddenly stopped by the door.
She turned, walked back, leaned down—
And kissed me gently on the lips.
"Good night, darling."
SMACK!
Scarlett yanked her back by the collar. "You said you were leaving!"
Olivia stepped in too. "OUT!"
Layla laughed gleefully as they dragged her out. "Worth it!"
The door slammed behind them.
Silence.
I collapsed onto the bed, face flushed and mind numb.
From the corner, my dad spoke again. "Proud of you, son."
"Dad…"
"Sleep well."
And then I was alone.
I stared at the ceiling, heart pounding, lips still tingling from that kiss.
"Why is my life like this?"
Then I closed my eyes—and this time, I let sleep take me.
