The night had already fallen over the southern part of the city.
In the evening, at the Pine Forest Villa in Jing Mountain.
This was already the third time this week that Zhou Ru had come to visit Old Lady Wen.
However, each time, Old Lady Wen was either resting or out playing mahjong with her friends. Zhou Ru hadn't managed to meet her even once.
Zhou Ru had finally found an acquaintance among the countless patients seeking treatment from the young prodigy doctor at Xihua Hall. After a mix of threats and persuasion, the acquaintance agreed to give up their appointment slot, allowing Zhou Ru to jump the queue.
She had come today specifically for this reason.
The old lady wasn't home, reportedly having gone to watch a movie.
Zhou Ru couldn't understand why an elderly woman in her seventies, who wasn't in the best of health, would go to such lengths and even watch a movie at her age.
Didn't she care about her own health at all?
What if she overexerted herself and ended up in the hospital? Wouldn't it just be a hassle for her son and daughter-in-law?
"When will the old lady be back?" Zhou Ru asked, trying to keep her temper in check.
The butler remained polite: "It depends on the old lady's schedule. She might return right after the movie, or she might not."
Wen Xin Yue had come along today as well. "Mom, let's wait here for Grandma."
Zhou Ru nodded reluctantly. She had no choice but to wait. This was a rare opportunity, and she needed to speak to the old lady in person.
The butler had them sit down and served tea and snacks, then left them alone.
He had to help make some small sweet pastries; the young prodigy doctor loved them!
Since the old lady had returned to the country, this was the first time Wen Xin Yue had visited the Pine Forest Villa. Not being familiar with the place, she couldn't sit still for long and soon began pacing around the living room.
It had to be said that although the decorations in the villa were understated, every item was of exceptional value.
Her gaze eventually settled on a piano in the corner of the living room.
Wen Xin Yue knew about Wen Li Ming's piano; it was one of the top ten pianos in the world. She had always wanted to play it as a child, but Wen Li Ming never allowed it, leaving her envious.
Later, when she had mastered the piano, it was moved to the old lady's residence, and she still couldn't use it.
She had hinted to Wen Hua Ming several times about wanting to play Wen Li Ming's piano, but he never gave her a definite answer.
Now, seeing the piano, Wen Xin Yue felt a spark of inspiration.
Actually… everyone only knew about her achievements in art and calligraphy, the numerous trophies she had won in competitions since childhood. They didn't know that she had started learning the piano at the age of eight.
She just hadn't participated in many piano competitions.
"Mom, I'm going to participate in the school's art festival next month. It's been years since I've entered a piano competition. Do you think we can ask Grandma to lend me Brother's piano later?"
Zhou Ru couldn't make decisions for Wen Li An and his brothers.
But remembering her mission, she smiled: "Of course. We'll talk to your grandma about something good, and she'll definitely agree."
Wen Xin Yue was delighted.
With this piano, what did Tang Chu Xin's cello matter?
Before, her father had suggested a marriage alliance between the Wen and Tang families, so she had given way to Tang Chu Xin in some aspects. Now, facing her own difficulties, she didn't want to give in anymore.
She wanted to be the best.
Thinking this, Wen Xin Yue smiled and walked towards the piano, unable to resist touching it.
Just as she was about to open the lid, a deep voice came from behind: "Miss, you can't touch this piano."
It was the butler.
Wen Xin Yue was a bit annoyed: "Isn't this my brother's piano? Why can't I touch it?"
The butler politely explained: "This is the piano for Second Young Master's upcoming concert. It can't have any mishaps."
Wen Xin Yue's face flushed, but she tried to control her emotions.
What did he mean by "no mishaps"? Did he think she would damage the piano?
Forcing a smile, she said, "By the way, has the ticket release date for my brother's concert been set? When can I get the internal tickets?"
The butler continued politely: "If the young master brings back the tickets, I will inform Mr. Wen."
"What about separate tickets for me? I want VIP front-row seats, not many, just a dozen or so. Uncle Butler, remember to call me when my brother brings back the tickets."
The butler remained polite, smiling without answering.
He didn't quite understand why Miss Wen could be so assertive about asking for concert tickets from the Second Young Master.
Tickets for the Second Young Master's concert were hard to come by, usually reserved for fans and music enthusiasts. Apart from the Eldest and Third Young Masters, who genuinely supported the Second Young Master, who else in the Wen family truly cared?
He didn't immediately agree.
Zhou Ru, however, was growing impatient: "It's already 8:30. Why hasn't the old lady returned yet?"
The butler checked his phone: "Oh, the old lady said she ran into Old Lady Zhao. They are playing mahjong together tonight and will return later."
Zhou Ru was so furious she felt like she might burst.
The butler, still polite, asked: "Is there anything specific, Madam? I will convey it to the old lady when she returns."
At this point, Zhou Ru couldn't stay, and Wen Xin Yue needed to prepare for the city-wide English competition final tomorrow.
So, she stood up, smoothing her wrinkle-free dress: "Here's the thing. There's a young prodigy doctor at Xihua Hall, very skilled. I used some connections to get an appointment. I want to bring the old lady for a consultation next Monday and have the young prodigy doctor take care of her health from now on."
The butler looked at Zhou Ru curiously: "A young prodigy doctor from Xihua Hall?"
"That's right," Zhou Ru nodded proudly. "She is highly sought after and specializes in various difficult and complicated cases. Many wealthy families in the south have had their elders treated by her. I managed to get an appointment for the old lady."
The old lady had just returned and wasn't as familiar with the city. Her resources and connections weren't as strong as before, limited to the old ladies she used to drink tea and play cards with. Zhou Ru believed that even if the old lady had heard of the young prodigy doctor, she wouldn't have known how to get an appointment.
Moreover, she had discreetly inquired and found that Wen Li An hadn't even tried to get information about the young prodigy doctor.
She expected the butler to show gratitude and excitement.
However, the butler remained calm: "Alright, Madam. I will inform the old lady when she returns."
Zhou Ru: "??"
Why was his reaction so flat?
Wen Xin Yue was also surprised and reminded, "Uncle Butler, the young prodigy doctor from Xihua Hall is a very important figure. Rumor has it that she might be a disciple of the legendary doctor Shangguan Xu, here in the south to gain experience before returning to the north to work at the Chinese Medicine Research Institute."
The butler: "Alright, Madam. If there's nothing else, please go ahead and leave."
Zhou Ru made a final reminder: "The consultation is scheduled for next Monday at 4 PM. Don't forget the time; the young prodigy doctor's time is very precious."
The butler agreed: "Alright, Madam. Would you like me to call a car for you?"
The butler's intention to see them off was clear.
Zhou Ru left the Pine Forest Villa with a dark expression.
Forget it. She didn't want to argue with the old lady's butler, who lived in the villa and had no idea about the changes outside.
An ignorant person, that's all. When they meet the young prodigy doctor, they will realize how significant her contribution is!
