The Love Letter You Wrote Me

During lunch break, Wang Haoran approached Wen Jing when Xu Muyan was away.

"Xu Muyan was called to grade papers," Wen Jing said automatically, accustomed to Wang Haoran only coming over for her friend.

"I'm here for you today," Wang Haoran replied with a smile, his peach blossom eyes locking onto hers.

Wen Jing's face flushed instantly. "For me?"

"Is this yours?" He produced the unsigned love letter from behind his back.

Wen Jing jumped in surprise. "No! I didn't write that!"

"Really?" Wang Haoran plucked a sticky note from her desk. "The handwriting matches perfectly."

Caught red-handed, Wen Jing bowed her head. "I'm sorry if I bothered you. I'll never do it again..."

Her voice trembled with the humility of unrequited love. From Wang Haoran's past indifference, she knew he had no interest in her. The letter had just been an emotional outburst she couldn't contain.

"Your writing shows talent," Wang Haoran remarked casually before leaning close to whisper, "Meet me after evening study hall at the school gate. Keep this between us."

Wen Jing froze. Was he really asking to meet her? A quick pinch confirmed she wasn't dreaming.

For the rest of the day, Wen Jing floated through classes in a daze, her occasional giggles prompting curious looks from Xu Muyan. But she kept her secret close, just as Wang Haoran had asked.

When the final bell rang, Wen Jing lingered until the classroom emptied before heading out. Under the streetlights, the sleek Rolls-Royce that always fetched Wang Haoran waited.

"Leave your bike," he said, appearing beside her. "I'm taking you somewhere."

"Where?"

"You'll see."

The luxury car stopped at a five-star hotel. "We're doing homework here?" Wen Jing asked nervously as they entered.

Wang Haoran just winked. The presidential suite took her breath away - 18,000 yuan for one night! She reached for her homework to hide her nerves.

Wang Haoran tossed her notebook aside. "You like me, don't you?"

"Yes," she whispered.

"How much?"

"Everything I wrote in the letter."

"So you'd do anything to be my girlfriend?" When she nodded, Wang Haoran's expression turned serious. "I should warn you - I'm not a good person. I won't be exclusive."

Wen Jing hesitated only briefly before nodding again.

"Many girls like me. You have no advantage." His voice turned businesslike. "But I'll make you my girlfriend under these conditions..."

The terms he laid out were harsh: secrecy, absolute loyalty while he saw others, no right to break up. Wen Jing's eyes widened at how unfair they were.

"In return," he continued, "I'll give you time, gifts, an allowance. I'll get you into your dream university. Even if we break up later, I'll secure you a 50,000-yuan monthly job after graduation."

He gestured to the door. "Your choice."

Wen Jing walked over - and locked it. Then she called home with an excuse about staying with a friend.

She knew their worlds were too different for a normal relationship. But if this was her only chance to be with the boy she'd dreamed about for so long, she'd take it, even on these unfair terms. The memories would be worth it.

Watching her, Wang Haoran smiled. To drive a wedge between Chu Bai and Chen Zishi, he needed to control Wen Jing completely. He wasn't proud of manipulating her feelings, but as the villain in this story, playing fair meant certain defeat.
