FLASH BECK

Long before humanity evolved into what it is today, even long before the era of King Zulkarnaen, Earth was a lush and breathtaking place. Its landscapes painted a picture of the universe's youth—wrapped in greenery, a symbol of fertility, stretching far and wide beneath the drifting clouds.

At that time, only a few groups of humans inhabited the world. The air was crisp and fresh, and the sky was a brilliant shade of blue. Wild animals of unique species, now extinct in the modern era, roamed freely. Even some herbivorous dinosaurs could be seen as domesticated livestock for the local inhabitants.

After Adam and Eve were sent down to Earth, the world gradually became populated with a new race—humans. Generation after generation followed in an endless chain, rapidly multiplying and spreading across the world. As time passed, many of them began to forget their origins, leading to the rise of new myths that gave birth to false imaginations of worshiping creators. This led artists to craft various statues, which were then worshiped. These statues, which were given many different names, are now commonly known as idols.

The passing of Adam marked the end of the era of the first humans, followed by the era of Idris, which then transitioned into the era of Noah. At one point, a massive flood struck their nation, causing a death toll of extraordinary proportions. Noah had several children, one of whom he named Yafis. It was from Yafis' descendants that a great colony was formed, which, hundreds of years later, evolved into one of the most renowned civilizations in the world.

Although the technology of that era was still very traditional, far from the modern technology we have today, the field of medicine advanced rapidly. This progress led to the emergence of various medical experts with knowledge that surpassed that of other nations of their time.

One day, an eternal elixir was created, granting anyone who consumed it longevity and immunity from death. Unfortunately, before the experts could fully assess its effects on the human body, the side effects had already spread throughout the city.

Anyone who consumed the elixir would lose their sense of self completely. They became immune to pain, stronger, faster, and highly aggressive. Their hunger grew exponentially, devouring anything in their path, including other humans. Worse still, anyone who was bitten would eventually become infected after a certain period. Each person had their own immunity, causing varying times for infection. Some transformed in less than ten seconds, while others only changed after days of being bitten. However, there was not a single human who remained truly immune to this infection.

The moon shone dimly, faintly covered by clouds. The howling of wolves added to the eerie atmosphere, accompanying the screams echoing through the city streets.

The chaos spread uncontrollably, expanding beyond control. All those infected suddenly behaved like wild animals, devouring anything in their path. Blood was spilled everywhere as the entire city was executed in a single night. The monstrous creatures grew in number, running swiftly, jumping from place to place, and swinging from house to house like monkeys. Occasionally, they would climb the earthen walls, pouncing on anyone they could chase down.

Eventually, these wild humans were quarantined within iron walls built by Zulkarnaen after he invaded hundreds of cities in his time. These beings came to be known as Ya'juj and Ma'juj, or Zombies. []
