I had learned that Stefano had left the Mafia due to some conflicts and disagreements. Meanwhile, the police had grown significantly in both numbers and technology, spreading across the city in a way that surprised me. The Mafia, too, had evolved, amassing wealth and resources for countless advancements.
Ray looked at me with suspicion and asked,
"But… why did you return? What is your goal now?"
I replied in a low, mysterious voice,
"I have returned to reorganize the law and spread justice everywhere."
Everyone was baffled by my cryptic words. Leo furrowed his brows and said,
"What do you mean, Shadow? Your words are strange and unclear."
I answered confidently,
"I have returned to take over this city, Leo. I have come to spread justice everywhere—for my mother and father, who were killed by gangs."
Phantom's eyes widened in shock.
"Shadow!! Do you really mean what you're saying?! That's impossible! How can we possibly do this with just us?"
I met his gaze and said firmly,
"Phantom, it's difficult… but not impossible!"
Everyone exchanged puzzled looks. I could see the uncertainty in their eyes, but I knew they were beginning to believe in my words. Deep down, I feared they might abandon me because of how ambitious this plan was—something no one had ever dared attempt before.
Ray sighed heavily and said with frustration,
"I understand, but there's a problem. A gang raided us unexpectedly and stole all our money. Right now, we're trying to come up with a plan to get it back."
I smirked slightly and said,
"Then we'll raid this gang and devise a plan to take them down."
The gang was called Mondo—a massive, reckless, and highly advanced organization known for amassing vast wealth. I quickly formulated a plan for our attack.
Max would drive to a location near Mondo's enormous headquarters and wait until the area was secure before signaling us to strike.
At midnight, Ryo drove past the massive complex, observing Mondo's members—dressed entirely in white, wearing white masks—moving large duffel bags into the building. The bags were filled with drugs.
Once the last guard stepped inside, Ryo gave us the signal.
Without hesitation, I sped forward in my car, the Mafia following behind me. We hurled explosives toward the massive iron gate, triggering a powerful blast.
As the explosion roared, shaking the entire building, a cloud of smoke and metal fragments filled the air. Inside, chaos erupted. Mondo members, clad in white, scrambled in every direction, utterly confused.
Ryo blinked at the scene and muttered,
"Did we just storm heaven?"
Alarms blared, red emergency lights flashing as the facility went into lockdown. Our cars screeched to a halt inside, tires grinding against the concrete. We stepped out, weapons raised, prepared for the bloodbath ahead.
Five Mondo members rushed down a corridor, guns aimed at us. We didn't give them a chance to act first.
Ray fired the first shot, striking one of them square in the chest. The man staggered backward before collapsing.
Phantom crouched, firing a precise shot that pierced another's skull, silencing him instantly.
One of the Mondo members tried to take cover behind a wall, unaware that Max was already positioned on a nearby rooftop with a sniper rifle. A single shot rang out, and the man's body crumpled lifelessly.
Leo moved swiftly, using his silenced pistol to take out the last two before they could react.
In under ten seconds, the first battle was over.
I spoke in a quiet, menacing voice,
"This is only the beginning."
We surged forward, deeper into the facility. The remaining gang members scrambled—some hauling drug-filled crates, others readying their weapons for battle.
Back at our headquarters, Louis and Williams, our tech experts, had already hacked into Mondo's security systems. Through my earpiece, they reported,
"The cameras are disabled, but three guard squads are approaching from the left side!"
I reacted instantly.
"Split up! Ray, take the rooftop! Leo, come with me on the right! Phantom and Max, cover our backs!"
Ray scaled a side ladder to gain the high ground while Phantom and I slipped toward the storage area.
We heard hushed voices near the storage doors. Two Mondo members were chatting about the recently transferred money.
I gestured to Leo and whispered,
"Take the one on the right—I'll handle the other."
Without hesitation, we struck. Leo wrapped his arm around one man's throat, choking him unconscious. I swiftly drove my dagger into the other's neck before he could even react.
Gunfire suddenly erupted from above. Ray had engaged the rooftop guards. Then, Ryo's urgent voice crackled through the comms,
"They're surrounding us! There are way more of them than we expected!"
The situation was escalating fast. Mondo had called for reinforcements, and now we were trapped, outnumbered.
I yelled into the comms,
"Louis! Activate emergency protocols! Cut the power!"
Within seconds, the entire building plunged into darkness. Panic spread among Mondo's ranks as shouts and rushed footsteps filled the air.
We had the advantage. Equipped with night-vision goggles, we moved like shadows, picking them off one by one.
Ray leaped from the rooftop, stabbing one through the heart. Max unleashed a hail of bullets, mowing down a cluster of enemies. Ryo outmaneuvered another group, taking them out with precision.
With the storage area secured, we moved upstairs toward Mondo's leader's office. As we neared the door, we heard him yelling into a phone,
"They're here! Send more men! Don't let them leave alive!"
I smirked and whispered,
"Your time is up."
With a powerful kick, I burst through the door. The leader sat behind his desk, frantically pointing a gun at us—but he was too slow.
I pulled the trigger.
His body slumped back, and with him, Mondo collapsed.
I turned to my team, my voice low and commanding.
"This is just the beginning… Soon, this city will be ours."
The battle ended. The money was reclaimed.
I stood under the rain, my clothes drenched in blood, watching as the future of the city shifted in our favor.
