In the morning, Wen's parents were resting in the sunroom.
Wen’s father was brewing tea, while Min Qing sat on the chaise lounge enjoying the sunlight. The sunroom was filled with various little items Wen Ruan usually tinkered with—handcrafted scenery, a little bunny made of straw sitting on a rock and reading a book, a squirrel sneakily nibbling on acorns, and a little monkey stretching up to pick peaches from a thin tree branch.
Min Qing saw traces of Wen Ruan in these little animals, and a smile unconsciously curved up on her lips.
Lost in thought, Min Qing was interrupted by Aunt Lin, who came in and said, "Sir, Madam, your son-in-law is back."
Wen's parents went to the living room, and just as they arrived, He Yanci was entering, having just changed into slippers.
Min Qing glanced past him, as though nothing had happened, and walked toward the sofa area while gesturing for He Yanci to sit down.
He Yanci sat on the long sofa across from Wen’s parents.
