Chapter 22 - The Flamingo

The spirit was struggling now. I was tempted to intervene but tried hard to keep my arms folded.

The Taoist priest did not look like he needed help. He had cartwheeled over to her, bell in hand and wooden sword in the other hand. He quickly laid the sword on her right shoulder with the wooden sword, holding her immobile. Then he raised the bell over her head and, with all his strength, shook it hard.

Instantly, I felt the ripples of energy and heard a deafening clang traveling through the hall. The energies threw the girl into fits, and a dark form was ejected by force. It tried to turn back into the girl but a spark of light hit the dark spirit and sent it flying metres away.
