New Love For My Wife

This is the moment for Lucas to be honest with Valdi, so Valdi won't insist on him introducing another doctor to replace Valdi as Nanette's husband. 


 'I am ready to step in for you, Valdi, because I've loved your wife for seven years. ' Lucas silently muses. 


But as Lucas is about to speak up, Valdo's baritone voice resonates. 


"Do you see your wife as some object you can just hand over to another man? Do you really think orchestrating a new love for her is the answer?" 


He paused, his breath shaky. "You've already agreed to a divorce, believing it would free her from suffering, yet she refused. Doesn't that show she's willing to face the worst, even if you forget her? But setting her up with someone else? Have you thought about the agony that would cause her? The torment you'd inflict on yourself?" 


He clenched his fists, knuckles white. "Imagine her, forcing herself to go on dates with another man. Do you think she could bear that? I doubt she'd ever agree."
