Chapter Thirty Three

The rustling of the dried leaves on the ground because of his footsteps, I knew it was him. Did he see what Alpha Joe did before he left, I gulp down a lump in my throat as the guilt made me feel difficult to turn around and face him.

"Oh! Did your lover leave?"

Followed by me turning around to face him is the sarcastic remarks from his mouth, Alpha King Zed. I could see his face silhouetted from the light of the fading sun. "He is not my lover, Alpha Joe is a close friend that I met in the West. You probably know his character because you are his cousin."

I stood my ground, I hadn't done anything wrong. I keep telling myself that, but I am too conscious of his dark gray eyes.

"You are right I know him! But I don't know you well enough to see what you have been doing in the West. I sent you there not to flirt with my cousin Thea!"
