Chapter Seventy Five

I woke up from the noise outside my office and didn't realize that I had slept on top of my desk. The cleaner had just turned on the hover and doing his job before the other officers came in. I yawned and stretched my sore muscles from a few hours of being stiff as I stood and opened the door.

"Good morning Chief, rough evening?"

The eyes of the old man looked at my uniform and smiled. "Morning Arnold, yeah it was kinda rough and lonely being alone on the night shift."

He nodded. "Would you like some coffee Chief?"

I shook my head. "No, I'm going to take a shower at home and get some sleep, coffee would just prevent that."

He smiled and continued what he was doing, I opened the door of the station and looked outside. Everything seemed to be normal like there was nothing happened last night. I waited for a few minutes until Edmond came.

"Good morning Chief, ready to leave?"
