Info dump go!

The first thing we did was hide ourselves. We had been doing this for years with our ships, using quantum resonance to stealthily move around the universe through our quantum tunnels (wormholes), ensuring we stayed far from anyone's territory. I took that idea and multiplied it by about a thousand, deploying a vast network of small satellites that acted like a cloud around our star. Their primary function was to conceal the Rao system from prying eyes, while their secondary function was to detect any approaching parties.

We built an AI specifically for this purpose, designed to oversee the satellite network, detect intrusions, and refute any attempts at alien parties infiltrating our systems.

The process of mining the materials took a year. It's amazing what you can accomplish with advanced technology—wormholes here, drilling there, controlled explosions, and shrinking technology—and suddenly, you've got yourself a ton of resources. When you combine smart, competent people working toward a singular goal with an AI designed to optimize efficiency, you achieve maximum productivity.

After three years, we had all the components we needed. All that was left was building the thing. Of course, we weren't just going to open a wormhole into our star and hope for the best, even with the countless satellites monitoring the process. No, we had to build a container—a Dyson sphere—to contain the process and protect ourselves. Even if everything went perfectly, our sun was going to gain mass and energy—a *lot* of energy.

I designed the Dyson sphere to have multiple layers, each with a specific function. The first inner layer, closest to the sun, was made of a white, high-grade ceramic composite to reflect radiation. The second layer consisted of sunstone crystals, designed to absorb radiation and redistribute it to power the rest of the sphere. The third layer was a thick carbon foam, 90% empty space, to reduce radiation and heat transfer. The final outer layer was a strong alloy of titanium, zirconium, molybdenum, and sunstone crystals.

The Dyson sphere wasn't just a container; it was also meant to supply power to the quantum tunnel, assisted by a number of large artificial suns placed around the structure. Tunneling a larger wormhole to a distant star was energy-intensive, and we had to prevent it from collapsing. This was achieved by reprogramming the sunstone in the tunneling device to harmonize with the frequency of the wormhole, creating resonance that stabilized it.

Now, all that was needed was magic.

We needed magic to work alongside science, and I'm proud to say I convinced the Kryptonian Magi to come out of hiding. The collaboration between the Kryptonian Magi and the Science Guild was nothing short of beautiful. We combined quantum mechanics with magical rituals to create an object made almost entirely of sunstone crystal. We reprogrammed the crystal to resonate with the energy signature of the Orb of Juru, strengthening the resonance through a ritual.

The device would absorb energy from the orb and the sun, convert the sun's radiation into magical energy, and then feed it back into Rao. It was a device designed to convert conventional energy into magical energy. The device had its own dedicated node within the Dyson sphere.

We made magitech. We *fucking* made magitech. I don't think the universe is ready for the new Krypton.

All of this took six years—from the moment the project was implemented to now, as we stood inside the Dyson sphere, ready to take Krypton to the next stage.

### The Moment of Truth

["We are at sufficient energy. Readings at 83% capacity."]

Everything was automated—nothing is more precise and accurate than a computer (especially one built by me). We were watching from inside the Dyson sphere, just in case things required a Kryptonian touch.

["Powering up quantum gate… Success."]

["Locating target stellar body… Target Star MDY13506R confirmed."]

My whole family was with me, including not-so-little Kal-El, who was staring attentively at the holographic projection. Sure, bringing a child here might seem irresponsible, but this was Krypton. No human eight-year-old would be as smart or mature as Kal. I'm pretty sure the kid had more maturity than me and El combined. He was too serious for his own good, but I loved him to death.

The council would be watching from Krypton, but here, it was just me, my family, and my team.

["Attempting to open quantum tunnel."]

I held my breath. This was the moment. The moment the wormhole fully opened, massive amounts of energy and matter would come rushing in with full force. This tunnel was designed to suck in objects from the destination target, like a black hole.

["Quantum tunnel opening...…. Tunnel opened."]

Suddenly, there was a violent vibration that lasted only a few seconds.

["Tunnel stability at 20%…40%…62%…77%…86%…100%… Quantum tunnel is stable."]

We waited for a few seconds.

["Energy integration at 1%…. Electromagnetic frequency shifting."]

"Oh yeah, baby! Oh yeah!" I was the first to throw up my hands and do a victory lap around the station. I picked up Kal-El and spun him around with joy. He tried to look offended but then broke into a brilliant smile.

"Kara, we did it. We really did it," said Zara-Lor-Van, one of my coworkers and also a friend.

Yes, I have other friends besides Elona. There were only three besides her, but that was more than enough for me. Kon-Tir and Von-Tir were brothers and my other friends, along with Zara.

After our celebration, we calmed down. Elona was the first to speak.

"So, now what?"

I turned to her with the most excited grin. "Now we add magic."

["Opening Crystal Orb node… attempting energy conversion… conversion success… attempting mystical energy integration into system......….Success…..Estimated time for energy saturation: Approximately 6 months."]

It would take 6 months, 19 days, 12 hours, and 13 minutes for full saturation.

"It worked! It worked! It fucking worked!" I shrieked.

"Language, young lady," my mom admonished, but everyone else was looking at me in amusement. Why weren't they more excited?

"Why are you not more excited? Don't you know what this means? Magic! More power for all of us. Our technology will be…"

I could see their excitement, but it should be more.

Uncle Zod smiled at me. "Congratulations, Kara. It's truly amazing what you've achieved."

"Yes, it is. And I am every bit as proud of you as a mother could be," my mom said fondly, coming closer to give me a hug. My dad joined in.

"And a father couldn't be prouder," he said.

"We all are," Aunt Astra added.

It turned into a family hug, with Elona joining in.

Uncle Zod broke the moment. "So now we wait six months?"

And we waited.

### Six Months Later

Six months later, after the process was complete and the wormhole was closed, the Dyson sphere folded in on itself into a cone shape, with the base pointing toward the sun. It would continue to orbit the sun, serving as a space station and research center.

Our Rao was beautiful—a white star with a cyan tint. I could feel it, the energy suddenly brimming inside my body. It was so much energy. I could feel myself getting stronger by the second. This wasn't a yellow sun—no, our sun had much more energy.

My senses expanded. I could hear the vibrations of the ship we were in, everyone's heartbeats—everyone in their rooms, the cafeteria, the sound of spoons hitting teeth and chewing. I heard the quickened heartbeats as everyone panicked slightly, overwhelmed by their senses.

I was different. My brain was adapting, and I had trained for this. I was born more sensitive and had to train myself to handle it. But everyone else—not only on the ship but, I guessed, also on Krypton—millions of people suddenly found themselves with overwhelming super-senses.

I think it's time for a worldwide Kryptonian training program.
