Chapter 20

Before Fu Yu could finish his sentence, Yu Jinwen's fist came flying at him. "Get the hell out—!"

*Like hell you'll pursue her. Like hell she's your type.*

---

Once inside the car, Nan Song's composed facade instantly cracked.

She pulled out her phone and dialed Bai Qi. "Little Bro, why the hell is Yu Jinwen at Shuiyunjian?"

"What?" Bai Qi, who had been hunched over his computer doing some *questionable* activities, froze. "Yu Jinwen is in Nancheng? And he came to *my* Shuiyunjian?"

"I just ran into him downstairs. Head-on."

"That's some twisted fate!"

Bai Qi slipped on his Bluetooth earpiece, fingers flying across the keyboard as he pulled up the first-floor surveillance footage. He watched—and heard—their entire encounter clearly, then burst into laughter. "You gave him *five cents*? Damn, you really went for the kill. But the look on Yu Jinwen's face—priceless! Serves him right. Hahaha..."

Nan Song was thoroughly annoyed by his cackling. "Just find out what he's doing in Nancheng, *now*."

At this moment, shouldn't he be wrapped around his precious white moonlight, whispering sweet nothings under the stars? Why would he have time to come to Nancheng?

Unless... he came specifically for her?

As her thoughts raced, Bai Qi muttered over the line, "He knows Fu Yu?"

"Who?" Nan Song frowned.

Bai Qi watched the surveillance footage of the two men with their arms slung over each other's shoulders. "That guy from last night—the one you beat up after he groped your ass, then threw up all over. Looks like he and Yu Jinwen are pretty tight."

Nan Song's eyes turned frosty. "So *he* was the one who sold me out?"

"Most likely."

Bai Qi tapped away at his keyboard, then sighed. "Yep, the surveillance footage from the dance floor last night was hacked. Ninety-nine percent chance it was Fu Yu's doing."

Who knew that guy had decent hacking skills too?

Nan Song's expression darkened. She hadn't known Yu Jinwen was acquainted with the Fu family from Rongcheng. Then again, during their three years of marriage, he had treated her like a ghost—never introducing her to his friends, never letting her into his social circle.

"If Fu Yu recognized you last night and tipped off Yu Jinwen, then Yu Jinwen must have rushed here from Beicheng overnight," Bai Qi analyzed, then snorted. "Could it be that after you walked away with nothing, that bastard suddenly remembered how good you were and wants to rekindle things?"

Nan Song's lashes trembled slightly. "Do you really think that's possible?"

"Not a chance."

Bai Qi crushed her delusions without mercy. "From what I heard, last night at the Yu residence, your ex-mother-in-law and that homewrecker Zhuo Xuan got into a fight. And your ex-husband, for the sake of his *true love*, ended up pissing off his own mother."

At that, Nan Song's heart plummeted again, her lips curling into a bitter smile.

Yu Jinwen, who had always been filial to a fault, was willing to defy his own mother for Zhuo Xuan. It just showed how deep his love for her ran. So what did that make *her*, his ex-wife?

"If he really came for you, what are you going to do?" Bai Qi asked.

Nan Song pushed aside the messy whirl of thoughts in her mind, her expression cooling back into detached indifference. "Once the divorce was finalized, that was the end. I was reckless for three years—I won't be reckless anymore."
