Chapter 29

Little Brother: [Little sis insists on watching the wedding livestream. Can't stop her. What do we do?]

Second Brother: [Why stop her? Let her see how we're getting revenge for her!]

Third Brother: [Livestream? Didn't Yu Jinwen ban the media?]

Little Brother: [Our girl's skills have surpassed mine now. If she wants to see something, no firewall can stop her.]

Second Brother: [*Eye roll*. Weakling.]

Fourth Brother: [Enough. If Xiao Liu wants to watch, let her. She's loved Yu Jinwen for so many years—maybe seeing this is the only way she can truly let go.]

Eldest Brother: [Proceed as planned.]

---

The heavens weren't cooperating. Beicheng had been overcast all day, dark clouds looming as if holding back a storm.

The wedding was held at Junyi Grand Hotel, owned by the Yu Corporation. The guest list was sparse—mostly business partners and a sizable contingent from the Zhuo family. As for the Yu family...

Guests whispered as they eyed the conspicuously empty main table. "Not a single Yu family member showed up? What's going on?"

"Old Man Yu never approved of this marriage. Have you forgotten the bad blood between the Yu and Zhuo families? They'd sooner start a brawl than attend."

"A marriage without family blessing is doomed. Though I heard this is President Yu's second wedding. Who was his first wife? How'd it stay so hush-hush?"

"Some nobody from the countryside, apparently. Rumor is he never loved her. How could some village girl compare to Miss Zhuo?"

"What's wrong with being from the countryside? Trace any family back three generations and you'll find farmers. My grandfather was a farm boy—still made it big. Look down on rural folks much?"

The gossiping guests were abruptly sprayed with saliva as a well-dressed young man cut in heatedly.

Bai Luyu chuckled at the fiery boy on screen. "Who's this kid?"

Nan Song didn't look up. "Yu Zeyu. Youngest son of Third Uncle Yu."

"Ah, a Yu family young master. Spicy." Bai Luyu grinned. "Rare to see someone from that family still defending you."

Nan Song shot him a look. "I was popular with the Yus. Everyone liked me—except Yu Jinwen."

The words stung even as she said them. The one person whose affection she'd wanted most had been the only one to withhold it. What good was popularity then?

She scoffed quietly.

On screen, Yu Zeyu was dragged to the main table by his sister, his handsome face stormy. "Jie, have you forgotten how good Dàsǎo was to us? How can you support Ge marrying Zhuo Xuan?"

"I haven't forgotten!" Yu Fanyin hissed. "But Ge and Dàsǎo are already divorced. However much we hate it, that's the reality. What can we do?"

Yu Zeyu kicked the table. "Ge's an ungrateful bastard! No conscience at all! I told Dàsǎo not to spoil him—men are trash! They never appreciate what's handed to them, always chasing after outsiders! I even taught her to throw tantrums or flirt with him, but she wouldn't listen. And now look—divorced!"

Yu Fanyin sighed. "Maybe it's for the best. Better to find someone who truly loves her than waste effort on a man who doesn't."

"Like that's easy! Ge's perfect in every way except his eyesight—*ugh*!"

Bai Luyu was thoroughly entertained by the boy's outburst. Smirking, he sent a quick text. Moments later, security entered the hall, heading straight for the Yu family's youngest heir.
