Chapter 89: A Surprise Meal

Bella woke up late, feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the day. She stretched her arms and yawned, then got out of bed and began to get ready for the day.

The girls were already up and about, chatting and laughing as they went about their morning routine. Bella joined them, and together they headed to the river to wash their faces.

As they sat by the river, Bella began to wash their clothes, hanging them up to dry in the warm sunlight. The girls watched her, fascinated by the way she expertly cleaned and hung up their clothes.

After they were done, Bella turned to the girls and asked, "What should we have for breakfast?" The girls looked at each other, unsure of what to suggest.

But Bella just smiled and said, "I remember now, we're going to have something good." The girls looked at her curiously, asking, "What is it?"

Bella just chuckled and said, "It's a surprise. But first, we need to find a medium-sized flat stone and a smaller round one." The girls looked at each other, then began to search around the stream.

After a few minutes, Bonita, the youngest, shouted out, "I found it!" Bella and the others rushed over to see what she had found.

Bella's eyes widened in delight as she saw the perfect stones. "Wow, you have eyes, Bonita!" she exclaimed. The girls all complimented Bonita on her find.

Bella then instructed the girls to help her carry the stones back to their shelter. As they walked, Bella told one of the girls to fill up the water bottles.

When they arrived back at the shelter, Bella instructed the girls to bring out the cassava that she had been sun-drying. Bianca went behind the shelter and brought out the cassava, and Bella told Lisa to bring out the yellow bananas.

Bella then headed into the forest, running quickly to where she knew she could find some banana leaves and almost ripe bananas. She picked some leaves and bananas, then headed back to the shelter.

As she arrived back, Bella said, "Girls, I'm back!" The girls all turned to her, and Bella began to prepare their surprise meal.

She put the banana leaves on top of the shelter, then knelt down on the stone they had found earlier. She instructed the girls to help her make small pieces from the dry cassava, which they then put on the stone.

Bella then began to grind the cassava into flour using the smaller stone. The girls watched in amazement, their eyes wide with wonder.

"Wow, we've never seen that before!" one of the girls exclaimed. Bella chuckled and said, "That's what we used back in our village."

The girls continued to watch in fascination as Bella expertly ground the cassava into flour. They had never seen anyone do anything like that before, and they were amazed by Bella's skills.

As the flour began to accumulate, Bella smiled and said, "Now, let's make our surprise meal!" The girls all cheered and clapped, excited to see what Bella had in store for them.
