Chapter 6: Ainz Papa Has Arrived

 –Ellie wasn't sure how long she had been asleep.

When she opened her eyes again, she could finally see things clearly.

She was floating inside what seemed to be a glass container.

Although she could open her eyes and see her surroundings, and even hear sounds, she still couldn't move her body.

The room she was in still had the same flesh-like walls and ceiling that seemed to be wriggling.

At first, Ellie had been utterly disgusted by it, but now she felt nothing at all.

"Incredible… she's looking at me… She's looking at me… Come on, call me 'Mama'!"

Right before her eyes, Albedo was gazing at her with a look full of affection.

Ugh… if only I could talk, I'd definitely complain that I wasn't actually looking at her on purpose.

I just physically can't look anywhere else!

"I'M the mother! Albedo, get lost!"

Beside her, Shalltear was looking at Ellie with the same dangerous gaze.

This was precisely why Ellie was so annoyed with these two.

Ever since she regained the ability to open her eyes, they had come to argue in front of her nearly every single day.

Sometimes, their arguments even escalated into full-blown fights.

Once, they nearly smashed the glass container Ellie was in.

Fortunately, Demiurge arrived just in time to prevent disaster.

According to Demiurge, Ellie had not yet fully matured, so she couldn't leave the container.

If she were exposed prematurely, it would be instant death.

After that incident, Shalltear and Albedo restrained themselves somewhat.

They no longer fought physically, though they still bickered constantly.

"You octopus freak! Obviously, our child resembles me more!"

Albedo, fuming, started emanating a dark aura.

"You monkey-faced hag! Clearly, she resembles me more!"

Shalltear refused to back down.

Judging from their conversation, it seemed like I had at least a humanoid form now.

Since I had inherited features from Albedo and Shalltear—both supreme beauties—my current appearance probably wasn't too bad.

Though, I really hoped I hadn't inherited their weirder traits…

Ellie pondered her situation.

"She also looks quite a bit like you, sister."

Somehow, Mare had also arrived, standing before the container and observing Ellie.

"Her eyes resemble mine too… they're heterochromatic."

Aura had also arrived.

So, I have heterochromatic eyes?

Nice!

That means I can dramatically declare, 'It's awakening… my right eye's power…'

This is great!

"But… I don't understand. Demiurge said he could adjust her appearance.

So why did he make her look like this?"

Mare curiously gazed at Ellie.

There must be an important reason for this."

Albedo added.

A human-like appearance?

Does that mean I don't have four arms?!

Or a demon's tail?!

Receiving this crucial information, Ellie was overjoyed.

She wasn't sure how much more time had passed.

She wasn't sure how many more times Shalltear and Albedo had argued in front of her.

Aura and Mare frequently came to see her.

Even Cocytus and Victim would sneak in to check on her.

Demiurge also visited often, smiling meaningfully at her.

However, one person had never come to see her.

The one who had created her.

The person she wanted to see the most—Ainz.

Demiurge must have told Ainz about me.

So why hasn't Ainz visited me even once?

Ellie pondered while staring blankly.

Currently, she could see, hear, and think.

But she still couldn't move, which left her completely bored.

Suddenly, a black vortex appeared in front of her.

Ainz's teleportation gate!

As Ellie wondered, a massive black figure stepped through the gate.

It was Ainz!!

Ellie finally saw him!

Even though he was a giant, intimidating skeleton, she wasn't afraid at all.

Compared to the anime, Ainz looked even more imposing in person!

Even though she knew Ainz was just an awkward dork inside…

Still, he looked so cool!!

But Ainz wasn't alone.

Albedo, Demiurge, and the other Guardians had all come with him.

Seeing Ainz was already satisfying enough.

But all the Guardians came too.

"Is it ready?"

Ainz asked in his dignified voice.

Though he looked dignified, he was probably panicking internally.

After all, Ellie knew Ainz's true nature.

"Yes, Ainz-sama. Your child is ready to be born."

Demiurge respectfully answered.

Albedo and Shalltear looked extremely excited.

It seemed… I was finally going to be "born."

Would I finally get to leave this glass container?

That would be amazing!

But once I was out, how should I react?

Ainz must be completely confused right now.

He was probably thinking, 'Since when did I have a child?!'

In that case, I should fulfill Demiurge's expectations…

And play the role of Ainz's daughter!

As the liquid inside the glass container drained away, Ellie began to regain control of her body.

She could move…

She could move her hands…

Her legs could move too…

Though she was still stiff from disuse.

As the liquid fully drained, the glass around her also vanished.

Since she had been leaning against the glass for support, the sudden disappearance of her support caused her to fall forward.

She tumbled straight into a massive, bony hand.

Barely able to lift her head, she saw a huge skull-like face gazing down at her.

Ainz had caught her just before she hit the ground!

Seeing Ainz's skeletal face up close was fascinating!

I need to act the part!

Thinking this, Ellie clumsily spoke her first words since arriving in the Overlord world.

"P… Papa…"
